Another big one Bites The Dust

CompUSA is closing all its doors....

I used to shop at the one in Glen Burnie when I commuted to Baltimore...
Nice store, nice people, good service.

There was another nice PC store in Annapolis: Egghead..they went under several years ago.

Gateway closed their PCBarns,,,,Bought my laptop at the one in Waldorg, still have it, still use it..works great too!!

Now all there is are the BIG Boxes, Best Buy and Circ. City.

It was hard to get rebate forms from them. Advertised rebates, but no forms.
They went private some years back, before, when publically traded, I had some stock. Got money from the class action suit filed against them.
Computer City, sub of Tandy, also closed down. Circuit City is hanging by a thread. Debating dumping stock in it. They are trying again to revamp.

I use to go to the one in Alexandria all the time, then we moved to St. Mary's and I stopped going. I was in the area earlier this year and stopped in to see if they had some piece of hardware, can't recall exactly what it was now but it doesn't really matter. They didn't have it and the store was a sad shell of its former self. The shelves had obviously been spaced farther apart probably in an effort to make it look less empty. In fact the inventory they had that day was probably about a quarter of what they use to carry. Very sad, they use to have some great deals on stuff.
