So that's what that was. We just drove through that area on the way home a bit ago. Police were crawling through the area with spotlights at the top of Golden Beach Rd. We wondered what was up. I hadn't heard about the BK robbery.

I'd been out walking my dog in the backyard and then drove out to see why the helicopter was circling with its searchlight shining down. When I passed a parked car with its motor running I got a flashlight shone in my face. Two guys at Subway told me about the robbery, and there's a notice in their door asking for info about the BK holdup.

That was 45 minutes ago and the chopper is still up there.

Glad I didn't take the bus today or I would be getting off there about that time and walking to the truck practically the exact same time. (yes the actual bust stop is at Burger King, but the only parking spots are way in the back by Arbies). Sheesh, its just terrible. I thought the burger king thing was a fluke or something :frown: Now, this. :frown:

Wow! Its a good thing you were ok!!

Between these two incidences and the armed home invasion on my neighborhood, I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't be safer to live in DC and commute to Mechanicsville/Charllote Hall... :ohwell:

It sure would be nice if St. Mary's County put these notices on their main web page. AND, I do not see a press release on the main page on this site.

It was just after 9 when I took the dog out and saw the chopper, so it probably happened around 8:30 or so.

I looked on the front page here too. It probably tells you which police departments are best at getting these releases out quickly.

This is all soo terrible and sad. I just moved down here. :frown: I guess I'll have to carry mace around or something. I just don't like doing that. :frown: I'm more worried they would use it on me instead of the other way around. Also, I accidentally maced my cat Sage not just once but twice on accident. :frown: All of this is just soo sad. :frown: I'll pray for our town tonight, maybe other folks can do the same too.

Well hopefully if anyone from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department who has clout in getting press releases out in a timely fashion reads this board they should be reminded that the public is your best tool in crime solving. And I don't just mean the general public in that statement, but those also who may be familiar with previous offenders residing in the area that have a history of Armed Robbery.

If I missed the press release, my appologies, but somebody came on here and said Subway has a flyer hanging up. I wonder who printed and circulated it.

I was wondering about the subway flier thing too. Wouldn't there be a description of the suspect on it or something?

Don't you think that when you click this link the "Latest News" should be something along the lines of recent press releases?

The last thing I see is the 18th. 10 days ago.
