Another Charlotte Hall ... 03-01-2006 11:37 AM it's law abiding dummy ~~ but you should know that

Yes I should :ADURMOMENT: :killingme

righttobeararms,

It is not a tough desicion it is a common sense decision. Every State that has reinstated the right to carry laws have had a drastic reduction in violent crime.

I'm not aware of that information.

People that are going to apply for a carry permit aren't the ones that are going to go out pistol whipping other people or robbing Arby's

Right, but I guarantee the robber would have thought twice about robbing Arby's knowing that there was a potential of people having a side arm on their hip inside munching on a sandwich.

I simply feel as a law abiding citizen with no felony record I should be able to carry a gun to protect myself.

I agree.

My honest opinion on the situation is. 90% (figuratively) of the criminals out there are carrying guns and would not hesitate to blow my head off in the mall parking lot for $20 or a pair of Nike tennis shoes to get thier next rock of Crack Cocaine, if I don't comply with thier orders. Why is it that the Maryland Government sees it fit that I don't have the right to defend myself from this kind of scum bag.

Now before anyone says, it's just money or it is just a car, make sure you think about the fact that, it is money that I worked for and a car that I worked for and my life that is on the line if I decide I don't want to give MY property to some scum sucking criminal and that criminal just might pop a cap in my head even if I do give him/her what I want.

By not allowing people to carry, it gives the criminal an advantage. They are wondering around with total disregard to the laws of society anyway, and in all likelihood, it is for “drugs” as you stated. I think that by allowing them to continue their destructive behavior, our government is forcing us to become enablers to them. We provide them unarmed prey to get the ways and means to support their habits instead of :clickclickbang:, hope that deters others, next time somebody has that bright idea.

Ayway the arguement could bounce back and forth all day and never go anywhere. I say reinstate the Shall Issue Right to Carry and that way if you want to apply for a permit and you meet the requirements you can carry. If you don't think it is a good idea then don't apply for the permit and don't carry your gun.= or don't even own one

It's a matter of simple choice.

I think with anything there is good and bad, but sometimes you have to consider if the benefits would outweigh the cons.

Worse case scenario, we go back to the way things are now if it would be changed.

I don't know if anyone remembers the drugged out car jacker that stuck a gun in a women's face at a traffic light to take her car a few years ago. :tap:

Maybe the fact she tried to snatch her son out of the back seat and he got hung up on the seat belt and was dragged across the highway like a rag doll and died will jog one's memory.

I see stories like that and wonder what if she was armed when that happened?

If anyone remembers the video footage, that man was EXTREMELY high and wanted more drugs and didn't have a ride to get where he wanted to go.

You know I haven't been to this Forum in a long time, and now I remember what I liked about it. Like minded people that post here.

Pandora I think we pretty much agree on this subject. Now all we have to do is vote in some politicians that agree that we should be able to carry and then wait for the Crime rate to drop so we can sit back and say "I told you so" to all the anti gun Nay Sayers. :D

what cha talkin' bout?
I had my car egged the other night while at work in Charlotte Hall, did a little bit of damage. Something needs to be done about all this crime before it gets to the point of someone being murdered. I think it's mostly teens doing stupid things, local and state law enforcement needs to step it up around st. mary's.

kids have been egging since way back when - I wouldn't consider that "all this crime"

when you damage someone's property, it's a crime. i'm not going to argue about this, if it was your car i think you would be mad. some kids just egged 4 cars at waldorf dodge causing damage, see a pattern? done, thank you

yes I'd be upset but I wouldn't view egging as the first step towards a murder. I just don't view it as that big of a deal. "OMG, there was a mass egging in waldorf!! What is the police's problem???? Why aren't they saving us all from the horrid eggers gang?"

yeah, personally I think that is more just mischevious kids that criminal activity.

But then again when we were kids if we got caught egging or TP-ing a car or house our parents would have whipped our Arses and made us work to pay for any damage. Most of today's parents will curse you out and tell you that it wasn't their sweet little Bobby or Sue.

Last time a kid egged my car was many years ago on Halloween. I was making a run to the store and the kids were walking down the road. One of them threw the eggs and I stopped the car and chased them down. Caught one of then and the poor kid was about scared sensless. the other one like to killed himself running through the briar and woods trying to get away. I won't say exactly what transpired after I caught him but I bet him and his buddy that got away thought twice the following Halloween befor ehte threw another egg. :)

egging cars wasn't the only point of "all the crime", if you read the news you also have armed robberies not just in arby's or burgerking but in homes, and cars also, tagging, and shootings. all i was saying is that my car got egged.

there is also a little want-to-be gang in country lakes causing a whole lot of problems, what if they all got guns? Yeah they're just tagging houses and parks now but with the right weapons, they'll soon be shooting each other.

Isn't this the group that has been spray paint happy? There were a bunch of cars spray painted somewhere behind Wentworth's recently, and I've heard the police suspected this so-called "gang". Then there is the lovely painting they did of the Golden Beach signs, but I hear there is also a "gang" from Golden Beach who've painted the Country Lakes sign.
