That very expensive piece of crap won't hold a charge. It doesn't even seem to charge up completely. It can be plugged in all night and still be flashing in the morning. It's not that old. Any ideas? Anybody else having this problem?

which model is it ?

you may need a replacement ...... there were issues with certain models and battery life, otherwise you might be shopping for a replacement battery

When all else fails call apple tech support, or schlep it on over to the nearest Apple Store ........

Mine locks up every now and then, gotta let it die then recharge. Piece of junk. I am still trying to get the music off my laptop. Tried to burn a disc, need bigger disk or something. It would not hold many songs at all.

Depending on how long the songs are, a cd disc isn't going to hold more than 20 songs. You can try putting the music you want on a disc into a playlist and then compressing the folder onto your desktop before loading it on the disc to squeeze in a few more songs.

I think there is a way to change the format, but I don't get along to well with computers to figure that out.

Treat MP3s as data files instead of music to copy them to a CD. Have one in the car with about 600 songs on it.

Do you know how to get one out of the Itunes format to do that? Or do I just drag the Itunes version to burn?

:yeahthat: Try the Apple Store though, sometimes they can be very accommodating and I've heard of them just handing over a new iPod if something is legitimately wrong with yours. That being said, I have an iPod mini...I've had it for almost 2 years and haven't experienced any battery issues.

Try drag and drop, worst that will happen is you waste one blank CD.
Is the apple Ipod the only thing that plays Itunes?
Since buying a player that didn't have a user replaceable battery seemd like a bad idea, I've never messed with an Ipod or Itunes.
The CD player I installed in my car will play MP3s makes it nice to lust leave the one CD in the player.

depending on software - iTunes will allow you to burn a data disc which holds alot more songs than an audio format for car playing

I'm not sure what I have. I mean all of my music from my CD's I have on a portable hard drive, I tried to transfer my purchased music out and on the drive and thats where I have a problem. Figure once I have it on my portable drive I can wipe my laptop clean and get rid of all that saved music.

some of that stuff has a license that gets downloaded with the song. check the site where you purchased it from about how to transfer it to another location.

I bought it from the Itunes place. I'll figure something out, just have to burn a bunch of disks.

Speaking of iPod/iTunes issues, I opened up iTunes, and it recognized the disc in my E drive as being "The Emancipation of Mimi" by Mariah Carey, which I do not own. The disc is actually "Jump Start First Grade", my son's computer game. :eyebrow:
