Because I'm a leader, not a follower. Perhaps you should take some initiative and get your tubes tied.

That's what your mom should have done BEFORE you were born!! The best part of you was cleaned up or pi$$ed away. I hope there aren't little dickheads running around calling you daddy.

I already know when you're going to jump off the TJ bridge. The Mayan calendar predicts it.

 What in the heck kind of nonsense is spilling out of your mouth now?

Dumb question - does our area have a high rate of suicidal depression? Or do most areas with these types of bridges have high suicide rates?

Suicide is the eigth leading cause of death in the U.S., but isn't in the top ten for Maryland. As for the bridge factor: firearms, suffocation, and poisoning account for 89.5% of all suicides in Maryland. The other 10.5% would include jumping as well as intentional crashes, wrist slashing, and all the other novel ways.

These are 1996-1998 numbers, but it is probably still representative of today.

Check out page 19. I found it interesting.

Thanks, MMDad.

I've read about suicide by proxy, where some people choose to confront the police in hopes that the officers will use deadly force. That is chilling to think about.

There's a theory that Marvin Gaye's death may have been suicide by proxy, since the gun that his father used was a gift from Gaye for protection. The singer had attempted suicide a few times in the early 1980s, and he could have deliberately provoked his father into the fight that ended his life.
