Another Obama -Soros deal

Baz

This. ------------------>
meh...look at how many offhsore leases have been granted over the years too. They are worthless until permitted to actuall stick a drill in the mud...which is why most of 'em are worthless. And three years ago they approved merely a 'plan'. They always approve plans.

The key here is that Soros knew when something 'real' was actually going to move and just ..just recently..put all those big bucks in. How did he know that?

How did Soroa know it would actually move forward when the Obama administration has shown only that it will revoke permits for operations already underway and after millions have been invested (witness West Virginia coal mining..) ..but is extremely reluctant to approve any new energy development.

Okay.

That response sure beats any factual rebuttal all to heck.

Nice job. Slept through debate class ..di'int ya?

Lemmee guyes. You own a T-shirt that has "FAX" in big black letters with a red circle around it a red line through the middle.

Nothing to see here
and how is this substantively different from Halliburton getting big contracts during the Bush-Cheney regime ???

Did you know that a higher percentage of sole-source/open bid contracts went to Halliburton during the Clinton administration?? but nary a peep about that.

UMM..because Haliburton is/was a US company....maybe?:killingme

again, i am no fan of Obama and don't blindly follow him the way that many blindly follow the Right

Haliburton, like all corporations, have no true national loyalty. profits trump people and patriotism

Haliburton got (and still gets) billions of Us taxpayer dollars with no-bid contracts and then moved off-shore to the Middle East !!!

Did you know that what Halliburton does, very few companies in the world do or have the expertise to do? :D

BTW, y'all forgetting the PRC was a huge backer of the DNC during Clintons two runs for the oval office?

again, your point highlights my argument that this isn't a Left versus Right issue

once you take the Left or the Right position then you are stuck defending many indefensible actions

food for thought ... suppose we divided the USA into those with incomes below $250K and those above $250

and you can only vote for an issue if it mainly help your income class

then the Bush Tax cuts (renewed by Obama) would not have passed, the Wall Street Bailout wouldn't have happened and there would be universal/single payer health care, etc etc etc

You're going to want to believe whatever it is you want. fine. Want to see a conspiracy? Knock yourself out.

I'm wondering when Soros put all those big bucks back in, cause he just sold a bunch of his Petrobras stock this past August. Did he buy it all back? What other energy stocks does he own?

Does it really matter?
No.
Why?
Because no matter what, it's a conspiracy!

Have a good weekend. :howdy:

again ... spoke like a true blind backer

1) it was/is an untested assumption that ONLY Haliburton could do the job ?

2) so why did the "US" corporation called Haliburton move to the Middle East ? (is Sharia law better than US law - haw, haw, haw)

3) "in this time of war", should as a matter of principle and sacrifice Haliburton pledge to have an "at cost" or reduced profit contract ? (are we all suppose to make sacrifices)

4) why can't the war profiteers contracts be made public ? (you can't beleive that 100% of the written contract is classified)

You leapt too far. I actually think Soros is simply a very canny investor who knows what to expect from the Obama administration and bets accordingly. He has established quite the track record recently of successfully making bets 'against' the USA's energy situation.

If can you take the time to, go back to the OP and note who posted the postulation. Weren't me.:howdy:

I should add this too: I've been working with Petrobras projects for over 25 years now and have watched that huge entity grow a lot, both in size and in technical sophistication and maturity. So at the end of the day, I'm rooting for them for selfish reasons, of course, but also because they will be a critical component of Obama's "No American Energy For America" program in that we will still be purchasing most of our oil from elsewhere for a very long time to come and I would rather it be from Brazil than from Libya any day. And for all those 'inside reasons' I certainly understand why Soros thinks Petrobras has a bright future. I do too.

I'll type this question real slow for you: "What does the payment of US dollars to a US contractor like Halliburton have to do with a totally foreign entity like Petrobras in Brazil?"

Take your time. "Because it was the only lefty talking point on my crib sheet that was close" is not the correct answer.

U.S. approves first floating deepwater storage in Gulf | Reuters

The U.S. Interior Department said on Thursday it gave final approval for Petrobras to use the first ever deepwater floating production storage facility in the Gulf of Mexico.

Petrobras is a Brazilian Company backed by Soros money

Didn't we send 2 Billion dollars to Brazil to finance their off shore drilling, while Obama banned ours?
Isn't the oil being drilled offshore in Brazil already sold to China?
GE gets 250 illion dollars contract with Brazil
GE wins $250 million offshore drilling contract in Brazil | GE Reports

Didn't Obama just appoint the GE Chairman to a post to bring jobs to America.??

Isn't Obama going to Brazil this week?

Lets critique.:
Petrobras a company strongly financed by George Soros just got permission to operate a deepwater floating production storage facility in the Gulf, when the Gulf has practically been shut down to American drilling companies.

Petrobras got 2 Billion from Obama to drill offshore in Brazil while we cannot drill in the Gulf. The oildis already contracted to be sold in China, basically we are subsidising Chinese energy, and GE got a 250 million dollar contract with Petrobras and we hired one of their wheels to bring jobs to America.

Obama is going down to Rio and Brazil for a vacation and probably to get his cut ,while Libya and Japan are embroiled in major problems.

Can anyone else smell the stench?? Or am I totally imagining this?

your questions is in error ... to me, Haliburton is NOT a US corporation but it is taking US dollars

To you?:killingme:killingme what?..you got some kind of magic 'fact eraser'??
Can I borrow that?

Haliburton was, until 2007, a US corporation, headquartered in the US, doing worldwide business in oil services and construction..as you, of course, would wish any US corporation to do.

So during the period of the Great Liberal Haliburton Bash Fest..they were a US corporation..just like GE.

In know...fax suk.

your facts are correct. i am simply doing my best to get people of their left versus right, libs versus conser, repubs versus dems etc,, etc, and see that this is simply a divide and conquer tactic used by both to crush the Middle Class and Poor Class

do you think it is a coincidence that it seems that whatever laws are passed by Congress and signed by the President, that those laws consistently and preferentially benefit only one class of Americans ???
