Obsessive-Compulsive--that doesn't surprise me.

What does Histrionic and Narcissistic mean?

Click the links Ken's post to find out.

Disorder | Rating
Paranoid: Moderate
Schizoid: Very High
Schizotypal: High
Antisocial: Moderate
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Low
Narcissistic: Moderate
Avoidant: Low
Dependent: Low
Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate

None of that suprises me. A lot of the symptoms are the same. I do agree with the Schizoid, but I also agree with the psychologists that don't consider it a problem (strong correlation between that and INTX personality types). How can something be unhealthy if it doesn't hurt you?

Chain,

Schizoids are actually very intelligent people. Some of the people I work with in my job are Schizoid's. One lady I have is very interesting. She keeps a journal, daily, of the things that she seriously ponders over. Page after page ranges from music, to politics, to current events, religion, stories she writes. It was amazing to sit down and look at these journals. She has this overwhelming range of thoughts that flow into her head all the time, so Schizoid are not dumb people. Many writers and musicians are Schizoids.

Just to be on the side of caution, I do call her before going to her house. I just want to make sure she is taking her medication, since she is a more serious form of a Schizoid, and doesn't think I'm GI Joe today coming to kill her.

The accepted theory of progression goes from Schizoid, to Schizotypal, to Schizophrenia. I would think that your coworker is one of the latter. On medication, its not a problem- I have a grandmother like that. Extremely intelligent, a bit eccentric and when not on meds, she believes some completely insane things. Its actually landed her in the hospital a few times.

I don't see problem with the first at all- I merely mentioned the fact that psychologists are beginning to question whether or not it is really a problem. I mean how can not caring to be around people hurt you? Not a statement or rationalization, just a question to consider. Psychology is one of my interests and hobbies. It and philosophy are two things that have interested me since I was capable of abstract thought.
