I stopped feeling sorry for her the 2nd day into it. She blew up his phone. She's a sweetheart but she's a rather annoying chatty thing.

I find it disturbing that this is how you talk about your "friend." she is annoying ... "yet a sweetheart"... I am confused...

Maybe I did when I was in high school, now that I have gotten older I only stayed close to the people that I genuinely got along with. Time is precious and you dont know how much time you have left...so why spend it with someone you find annoying? I am not saying you are wrong to think that way, I just have different views I suppose.

1: I have no idea what happens when your number is blocked, but isn't that a possible response when you call someone who blocked your number?
