Is he a black man, real nice guy by the name of Elmore?
At any rate, I can get in touch with this guy on Monday and find out.

No, his name is Tom, and he is cauc. Very nice man, that truely loves the Scaled ones, and knows a lot about them. He'll have a few with him today at the Grand Opening.

I'm not going to make it to the opening so if one of you is going could you get his contact info? Or ask him about her laying on her back?

Update in that she hasn't done it since. She is moving slow and it is her time of year to bromate - which is what bcp is referring to - but she is accepting water and seeking the heat lamp. Still turning her nose up on food.

May be doing a vet run this week when I scrounge up funds.

I will be going to the Grand Opening today, and will talk to Tom for you. I'll PM you with his Contact Information. If this Beardie is a Female, she could be egg bound. That happened here & there with my Iguanas. I would put them in a tub of very warm water, and let them soak in it. With the Beardie, she might do better in a Sink. You are no Dummie, but make sure it's not too deep, and keep an eye on her. Keep the water warm, don't let it cool down. I take my exotics to VCA Animal Hospital in St Mary's. Dr Chabral (SP) is the exoctic Specialist. Phone number (301) 862-2441 After a good soak, the eggs would come.

Yeah, I'm worried about her. I know some can live 20 years but.... I had her down there not long ago about her eye, she had a vitamin deficiency because she's such a picky eater. They thought she looked pretty good. May have to find the funds for another visit though - and quickly.
Did they happen to say that the Vitamin Deficiency is called Metabolic Bone Disorder? If this is the case, it would be hard for her to lay her eggs. They don't have to have a Mate to lay eggs. The eggs just aren't Fertile. It seems that I read somewhere, that a Lizard was doing the same thing as yours, and it ended up being either Horney, or laying eggs. I can't remember. But as I said before, try soaking her in warm water for an hour, or two.

Thank you! I will try the bath. She doesn't really like them (so her longest has been 20 minutes without an attempt to escape) but I won't give her a choice.

She has an eye issue linked to vit deficiency but they didn't say anything about the MBD. She hates when I sprinkle her food and refuses to eat a live cricket (although she likes to chase the mealworms). She is an oddball.

Hey Bres, Check your PM. I am on my way to the Grand Opening, and will pick Tom's brain about this for you.

Hope you all can solve this mystery...
I would be interested in knowing Mr. Toms thoughts on this behavior.
Thanks Roman!:howdy:

I just hope that he is OK, because it's not like him to not call, or anything. I didn't see you at the Grand Opening yesterday. Did you stop by?

I'm very sorry to read this. You did your best. Years ago I had an Iguana that I spent close to $600.00 on at the Vet. She spent days in the Hospital in an incubator, with I.V. Fluids. She was Egg Bound, and had to have a Hysterectomy. She lived for about 2 weeks after she came home from the Hospital. I was devastated, to say the least. Even scaley babies slither in to our hearts. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
