Any Issues with Applejack Kennel?

Is this for real ? I would freak out if that happened to my dog. What did they do about it? Any thing? Iam so sorry! I can't believe that happened to you, that is so sad.

Once before taking my dogs there to be boarded one of my dogs had just started having seizures for unknown reasons. When I dropped them off I forgot to mention it on the form. She has one and they were right on the phone with me. Happened on a Sunday morning about 6:30am and they called the local number I left with them, my petsitter, and called me in Arizona. The girl there was great. She said she sat with her during the seizure and afterwards my dog crawled up into her lap. She said she would keep her with her for the rest of the day just for observation. They would have taken her to my vet if I had said so. My dogs love going there. Get so excited when we pull in and pull to go to the people. Don't think they would do that if they were mistreated. During my training there, they provided a video tape of the method they used with my dog and then I spent several months there learning to work with him so as not to confuse and frustrate him.

I'm so sorry you lost your dog. I know one of mine is getting old and know something could happen at any time. I always think of that when leaving them.

Sadly enough, it is for real.

They had checked him around 10:00pm or so and when the staff arrived the next morning, he was gone. They told us that he had a seizure or something. :eyebrow: They took him to our vet, who kept him on ice until our return. They offered to help us bury him. They didn't charge us for the week that our two dogs had been boarded.

I made a deliberate choice NOT to go after them and not to have an autopsy performed. My other dog was having a terribly tough time of it ~ not eating, crying out and she needed attention.

Max's nature was strong, protective, loving, generous and kind ~ that's how I wanted to remember him ~ not bogged down with sadness or the turmoil and frustration of a lot of what if's that could never be answered.

I think about him a lot and send love to him all of the time.
