Hell, I'm thinking about the new Rebel XSi:

Only $900 with an image stabilized lens! I guess it'll be $750-$800 for just the body.

I also like that you can use the lcd for taking pix. I hardly ever would need that, but...

I almost thought I may have to reconsider my 40D purchase... but the 40 does offer a higher fps rate and larger buffer, more custom functions, better weather sealing, faster maximum shutter, and (probably) a more rigid chassis.

Something I have noticed looking through all these reviews is the LCD resolution. They gave the 40D another half inch over the 30, but it still employs 230K pixels - which means it's less sharp.

I do like that the highlight tone priority seems to be going universal on all Canon's SLRs, as well as the 14-bit RAW files.

With the release of the XSi the boundaries between "amateur level" and "pro level" cameras is further blurred... almost hard to tell the difference.

I usually do capitalize the first letter of sentence. But, how right you are that "Nikonian" is a proper name. Just kidding, no slight intended.
