Trying to plan a family vacation to Jamaica. We want an All-Inclusive resort, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Define 'family'.

Younger kids, I don't think I would do that. Just an awful lot of places I'd rather take them.

2 16 yr olds and a 15 yr old. Thought Jamaica would be nice- they love the beach and want to zipline.

Sounds good.

Only stayed at Swept Away in Negril. Expen$ive and it's next door to one of the Hedo's. Probably better family places.

The diving in Negril is AWESOME and I think there is zip line nearby. :buddies:

Oohh! I'd love to go to Jamaica. Well, anywhere warm actually, lol. My kids want to go to the Bahamas or maybe Puerto Rico, but ours are only 8 and 11.

It's not too bad but keep a close watch on them. There are a few places you can check out, the fall climb/park is fantastic, and I'm sure the resort has some excursions to take. Be careful if you go out on your own, just like anywhere else. Think southeast DC, but slightly safer.

Oh - and the street vendors for ganga are everywhere :yahoo:

Beaches in Negril for the family!

I was just looking for info on a good all-inlusive resort. Looking for nice beach and clean. I was looking at Beaches Negril but the reviews said it was old and run down. I wanted to be close enough to excursions such as zip-lining. Just want something nice for our first time.

Eh, I wouldn't return to Beaches Negril. But then again, I'd likely never return to Jamaica again, anyway, regardless of where I was staying.

My aunt just got back from Jamaica (not sure which resort) and she wasnt impressed either. Said it was dirty etc...

Thanks- I guess i will move on to choice number 2 and 3. Mexico or bahamas!

What about a cruise to Bermuda? There are several lines that leave from Baltimore or Va.

The crusie we are going on in May the price keeps dropping... it is awesome we just upgraded to a verandah basically for free. :yay:

In My Opinion
Been but its on my list of places I will never return to.

Got tired of having someone want to braid my hair every 5 minutes while on the beach,,, and I dont or didnt even have long hair at the time.

Maybe they dont do that anymore.

Beaches!

I have only stayed at Sandals but I have heard Beaches is the same just for the entire family instead of adults only. There are two in Negril and one in Ocho Rios.

You guys realize it's a 3rd world country right? I mean i've had people hassle me to buy stuff in Spain and Italy as well.....most of the caribbean is poor and the resorts are the only places that are what we would consider "clean"

Mexico....not sure if you have looked into the threat levels there but I wouldn't recommend....
