You are probably talking about the "Public Eye". Bright yellow paint inside? There is a place down by the old cotton barn section. It was Captain Bilboo's or something like that and it totally rocked. Great food and a band almost every night.
You know, I've been thinking you need to quit your day job and just write "The Adventures of Pete". It would be a best seller.

I'm thinking of planning a trip to Memphis before the baby is born. Where is a good place to stay and what sites do you recommend (besides Graceland)? I'd like to stay at the Peabody, but it's quite expensive.

You travel a lot.

Here's a site with 'virtual tours' of Beale Street....

I was there way back in 1980 & again in 1984 while staitioned in Millington, TN. Going to Memphis was a blast. Good food, music, and lots of bars; I remember Silky O'Sullivan's and getting this drink in a bucket. (It's still there) Went to the Daisy Theater and saw John Prine in concert.

BB King's is neat and so are the Mississippi River Tours.

If you want to be near (across the street from Graceland) Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel is ranked #8 at TripAdvisor.com.

I went there years ago when I was still in high school with a friend her grandparents sold equinox helth products and there was a comvention there for it and I went with them. we got to see duck in, and walked up and down the main street what ever the name was they had LOTS of BBQ places I bought a ton of BBq sauces from korkeys. we didnt get to see where elvis lived we went to the casions instead. it was a lot of fun for the short amount of time we were there I still have pictures from it. :) you should go back if you get a chance. and stay awake!
