Anyone care to take a guess at his age?

I wish I COULD tell you. I was seriously asking for guesses from people familiar with cats. (13 yrs old -- REALLY??) The vet guessed him to be at least 5 months old because he appears to have his adult teeth. Further inspection of the "other end" uncovered what the vet referred to as, ahem, somewhat underdeveloped (poor kitty). So, with the vet being unsure (I'm not too sure about the whole adult teeth thing myself), I'm really at a loss. I don't want to hold off on neutering, but if he's old, do you still do it? (no spraying as of yet)

Oh wow...........okay. He does look older than 5 months though. He's a beautiful color but from the pictures his hair looks "old"......sounds silly, I know, but if he's a young kitty, you'd think he would have pretty shiny fluffy hair being the long hairy kitty he is. No offense to you about the eye boogies. :huggy:

In the first pic, he looks young to me..say 3 - 5 months. Vet says he has all his adult teeth...are they clean, nice and white? Broken? I would certainly think the vet would know whether he was a kitten or an adult. Once into adulthood, it's harder to tell specifically. He could have been neutered as a small kitten 8, 10, 12 weeks or so and that's why he looks underdeveloped. Of course, if he's a kitten he could be on the small side if he's been a stray or not eating well and, therefore, not growing properly.

No offense taken. The pics were taken while he was still a stray outside. he'd been hanging around for several weeks in my sister's shed and she was worried he'd be eaten. He's dirty, I know. I just haven't had the heart to do much with him since his awful experience at the vet. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and make him sit while I work on his fur. I couldn't do anything when I first got him because they had flea and ear mite medicine on him. Poor scruffy kitty!

CATTITUDE! You've hit on exactly what I was wondering about (but afraid to ask). The vet would HAVE to know if he'd been neutered already, right? Can you imagine if I sent him in for neutering and it had already been done? UGH!
