We are lucky down here. Last week's wind and rain did a job on the State north of us and it is nowhere near as colorful as what we have.

And does anyone know where and why the osprey go and why the eagles don't??? :eyebrow:

I'm guessing it's all about their food. Ospreys don't have much food options in a cold winter. They have to migrate south for their meals.

Eagles do have other options. They'll eat rabbits, ducks, etc. So, they can stay here for the winter.

...think this is one of the prettiest autumn's we've had in awhile?

I take notice every year but this year seems to excel!!

You're correct! I've noticed them too. It's my favorite time of year. They were exceptionally pretty in the Smokies last week too. :yay:

I havn't seen real trees in a while... its mostly them desert plants shrubs out here, and a few palm trees....but, apparently whatever is here, it either stays green year round, or that dirt brown color...

But, hopefully when I get back (mid-late Nov), the leaves will be in full change :yay:

That's what it will look like here in mid November.

Gotcha...I always thought it was late November when the leaves fall off... but at my house, I have alot of pines, and only a few hardwoods, so I see green year round

Had friends who went to Skyline Drive last week to see the foliage - they were surprised! It was nicer here than there, but there is nothing like 8 hrs in the car bonding with 2 teenage girls....
