Anyone have a good okra recipe?

I'm looking to make a stew or a veggie soup, something tried and true.
Whats your favorite?
2 best ways to prepare okra:
#1, dice it and throw into a pot of crab soup.
#2, open trashcan and throw it in.

NEVER, I repeat NEVER pan fry okra. :barf: :dead:

I have had fried, I liked it, I also had it in soup and of course thats good. Ok, okra in crab soup = :yum:

I found this:

Okra Stew with Shrimp
1 pound medium shrimp - peeled and deveined
1/2 lime, juiced
4 tablespoons margarine
2 green bell peppers, seeded
6 tablespoons minced shallots
1 cup frozen corn kernels
1 cup chopped okra
3 tomatoes - blanched, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
1 green chile pepper

DIRECTIONS
Place shrimp in mixing bowl and squeeze lime juice on top, trying to coat shrimp evenly.
Heat butter in a stock pot and saute the green pepper with shallots or chives for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in corn, okra, tomatoes, tomato paste, thyme, bay leaf and chili pepper. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the shrimp, return to a boil and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf and chili before serving.

I don't think there is such a thing as good okra. :barf:

You haven't tried my recipe!

1: Cut Okra into 1/2" sections
2: Roll out premade pizza dough into a circle.
3: Ladle out pizza sauce into center of dough and coat (leaving 1/2" all around for crust)
4: Dust with Oregano, Basil, minced garlic, and Crushed Rosemary
5: coat entirety of sauce with mozzerella (sp?) cheese.
6: toss on preferred toppings (I suggest pepperoni, onion, and red peppers) (chicken is also good)
7: preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake on pizza stone until the edges of the pizza begin to brown and the cheese in the middle is fully melted.
8: throw out that okra for reals. BLEGH =(

When I worked at Taco Hell, the manager let me make my own messages on drive thru since I spoke english.

I had 'Welcome to Taco Bell, burritos are better then okra' for a good few weeks.
