No dogs are worth breeding unless it comes from a good background. She should not breed this dog just becuase she needs money, like it sounds.

There are too many dogs that need homes now.

It's either breed him or fix him. Some people do breed their animals and find loving homes for the pups. I just wanted to see if anyone was interested. I don't give a crap about the money.

Rocky Mountain High!!
is he AKC registered? Health cleared (hips, heart, eyes, elbows)? Have you looked at the American Rottweiler Club website http://www.amrottclub.org/ to learn about your breed? Rotties have the most AKC breeding faults of all the breeds combined (this is NOT for "show dogs" only, many of them are health related as in hips, hearts and eyes). Do you understand these potential health threats? Do you know if your dog is really conformationally and temperamentally correct? Will he improve the breed IF he is bred? Do you care about how the female meets those standards?

It is not a decision for other people to make, to neuter or not. It is yours, based on making an informed decision based on all the facts. There are people on this forum who have purchased animals with genetic defects, ask them what heartache they have. How will you avoid pepetuating any potential genetic defects? As a male he has a LOT more potential for perpetuating these defects by virtue of how many pups he can be responsible for during his lifetime. Have you researched his littermates to see if they are all healthy and in good homes? or did some of them wind up in an already over burdended rescues, and dead because they aren't those cute little puppies any more but big whopping slobbery dogs, with no manners, or worse, dangerous? These are all things you should think about before even considering offering a dog for breeding.

JMHO of course....this is my breed, and if you want guidance, I'm here for ya! But if you REALLY want guidance, be prepared for the answers I'll give you, based on the facts. I don't sugar coat any evaluation i do. I don't know, your dog may be bred out the wazoo, and can benefit ME, in that i may love him, and be grateful he is a nice dog, relatively close that i can add to my breeding program. although....if he were nicely bred, his breeders would have given you the same advice i'm now giving. Did they? Check out my website, if you want some answers.
