I am looking for someone good (not the standard rock ape you find at any ol' 'joe's garage') who will help us with the more difficult mechanical issues arrising from attempting to restore a '65 GTO that looks to be nearly all original, with a badly leaking tri-power carb (front one), and a possible gas tank refurbishment (at the very least), as well as someone who would be interested in helping take out to refurbish, possibly restore, the engine.
The car doesn't look like much at the moment, but we plan on getting it in as original condition as possible, and want someone who would like to work on it that won't strip or snap bolts; basically someone with time, experience and patience. We don't really know ANY mechanics around here and have had bad experiences with restores (in other states) where the mechs had bent, dinged, scratched (or worse) our restor (even when they were in otherwise mint condition).
If anyone knows a quality mechanic who will respect what we are trying to accomplish, and would be willing to help us out (and yes, we will pay for their services, we are not looking for volunteer work), could you please let me know? I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks!
