Anyone Know A Good Window Replacement Co?

I have 2 friends that used Lowes and the windows look great.

Of course, she purchased the top of the line windows, and even in Lowes they are not cheap, but they did do a professional job.

I guess it all depends on the installers they use. Today even the big named companies can use bad installers, so you just have to ask a lot of questions, wherever you go.

Good luck!

We used Bob Green for our windows and siding. The crew that came out was very good and we're very satisfied.

Hi. Does anyone have any experience with a window replacement company in the Waldorf area that you were happy with?

We have some very odd shaped windows and had to have them custom made. It took A&M glass awhile to give an estimate but they installed the windows at the exact time they said they would. The guys were professional and cleaned up after themselves- something I have found lacks with a lot of service people. The seal is broken on another window in the back of the house and need to call them out again :ohwell:

They do good work, but they were also the most expensive out of the three prices we got.

Yeah, but they're good! We had all new siding, 16 windows, faschia, soffit, and the ceiling of our carport all wrapped in vinyl or metal. Told them we didn't want to have to paint any trim, and we don't!!! To be honest, we didn't even price around. They are close to our house and we like to support local companies when we can. Also, their reputatin preceded them.:buddies: Odds are if someone else had been closer, we may have gone with them.

We used Camelot for windows and siding and were very pleased.
I had Camelot do my windows also and was very pleased. However, they seem to be out of business. Now we have a broken window and are having problems replacing it. So, I'd be thankful for ideas too.

I heart CLeValley
Metropolitan Windows and Siding. The owner went to McDonough - Jeff Thomas and his partner is Omar Kassum. CLeValley and I highly recommend them. They will work with you on prices and will not sell you products you dont need.

:yeahthat: Local family run business. The owner comes and measures and is there when they install them. I got 10 windows done this spring, price was very reasonable, the windows are cutsom made to fit and they install them from the outside so there is no destroyed window trim or mess inside. Cleaned up and hauled away the old windows and storms.

Mine were $330 a window, double hung, thermal glass with low E, outside capped with aliminum and caulked tight.

Dang, that's pretty good! We installed a window ourselves in the master bath a while ago for the same.

I will have to dig out the bill but I am sure it was that much. It was much more reasonable than others and it only took about 3 weeks.

No middlemen or installers either so you didn't pay for the windows then have them sit around while the installers jerk you around.

We just had our windows replaced about a month ago by American Design and Build. They are located in Bel Air but came to Mechanicsville for the quote and to do the job. The guy was here for about 3 hours giving us the quote, so be prepared for a long visit unless you say yes right away. We only have 9 windows and the initial quote was over $10000 for the triple pane best windows they offer. If you keep saying no, that's too much, they will keep coming down on the price. We ended up getting triple pane windows on the front of the house only where the sun beats in most during the day, and getting double hung on the back windows. Our total was came down to around $5000, but we had to agree to allow them to take before and after photos, we have to write a small testimonial saying how much we love the windows and we have to keep a small sign on our front lawn advertising their company for a few weeks.

I can't complain about the windows. They're 10000x better than the old ones. If you hold your hand to them you can't feel any heat from outside, when the old ones you could feel it like the window wasn't even there.

They tilt in for easy cleaning. I wasn't here when they installed them but I'm pretty sure they did it from the outside also. They did have to remove the interior window moulding to install them but they replaced it and you can't even tell it was removed.

Couple more Maryland Replacement Window Options

A couple of other options - give Cherry Cove a call (PAX (Patuxent) River Naval Air Station Hotels, Homes, Apartments, Office Space, Storage, Events, Conferences - Cherry Cove in Southern Maryland); they're sure to have some great recommendations. Also, I don't know whether they service Southern Maryland, but DC Metro/Northern Virginia's best and most professional outfit is the Vinyl Lite Window Factory (Northern Virginia Replacement Windows, DC Metro Replacement Windows | Vinyl-Lite Custom Window Factory) - give 'em a call to see...
