Well, I can tell you who NOT to go to if you want to avoid vacciniations. Dr. Sheth really came down hard on me, and pretty much accused me of being an unfit parent. He said that I was denying my children proven protection from this, that and the other.
Good luck!

We use Dr. Dhillon, and I'm not sure how he is about vacs...

But why would you not want to get the vaccs done just because your breast feeding??

My chap is being breastfed, but we are still getting her vacs done this week....

Two separate issues:

Many people choose not to vaccinate their children at all - ever. There are side effects to some vaccines that can sometimes end in fatality. This is really RARE though. I've also read about a condition that some kids have that they can't be vaccinated. I can't remember for the life of me what it is, though.

I think she's just one of the parents that chooses not to vaccinate her child. I would never take that risk, but she's allowed.

The breastfeeding: some pediatricians do not agree with breastfeeding a child after a certain age and get very cranky with you if you continue to breastfeed.

So, she wants a pediatrician who won't give her a hard time about breastfeeding beyond a certain age and not vaccinating her child.

Though, I thought vaccinations were required for school... so I don't know how that works.

I'd be willing to bet she's going to home-school.

I know you said St Mary's but if you are not having any luck I recommend who Dr Mehta's new partner is (I am sorry but I can not remember his name). Dr Mehta is probably good but I have only discussed the issues w/his new partner. They are at calvert hospital.

I was in there a few weeks ago and was talking to him about vaccinations b/c I have previosly declined some. He said that I have a choice in what vaccinations and when to give them to the baby.

I know that they also promote extended BF. When I had to switch to formula they were very concerned as to why I was switching.

ETA: you can still send your child to public school w/o being vaccinated. There is just paperwork involved with it.
