Anyone know of a good lawyer in St. Mary's county that does LLP or LLC stuff

Limited Liability Partnerships / companies. It is a business arrangement established and sanctioned by states to recognize a business as a seperate legal entity.

Say you open a hot dog stand. A person chokes and his family sues you. You lose and they get your house, bike, cash. If you had established a L.L.C or a L.L.P they could only get assets owned by your hot dog business.

Close, As Unix said they are companys, not corporations. I own one that was started almost 20 years ago. Not many people had LLPs or LLCs back then. Any way I own a LLP and need a lawyer for it.
