nobody really
I need a nap
I need to have the carpet in my den removed - can't seem to find anyone who will do it - its not a big den (its a townhouse), location North Beach. I just want it removed for now, not ready to put new stuff down.

There is probably only a rough sub-floor underneath the carpet. Unless you're putting something new down, you'd be better off to leave it.beachcat said:I need to have the carpet in my den removed - can't seem to find anyone who will do it - its not a big den (its a townhouse), location North Beach. I agree. The hardest part is taking it to the landfill. Oh and the tack strips aren't much fun either.Toxick said:It's a fairly trivial task to remove carpet. I just recarpeted a room in my house, and getting up the old carpet out is as simple as walking to a corner, gripping the fibers near the corner, and tugging out and up. Once you get a flap big enough to grab, grab it, just peel it the rest of the way up.
The only tricky part is if the carpet spans more than one room, you'll need a razor to cut the incision in the doorway.
You can do it yourself in about 5 minutes.
