It seems that the builder, Stuart Kreg (sp?) is having problems getting the final punchouts done on some of the homes. The homeowners have erected signs in front of the houses to show their displeasure.
Some of these signs have been up for almost a year, or so I'm told.

The development is in Drayden -- it's off of Flat Iron Rd. ...about 5 miles east of the intersection of 5 and Great Mills Road.
The community itself looks very pretty -- very clean, private (wooded lots), etc. Has anyone here built (or know of someone who built) in this area? Somerset Homes in the builder -- their homes look beautiful. I'm just wondering what people think of them once they've been living there for awhile. (Any problems come up? How were they handled?)
Thanks in advance!
That's funny. Everyone that I know from Drayden is nice. I used to live there and thought that the people were great! Most of them are related and just about everyone in Drayden knows each other. I can't say that I know one crazy person from Drayden but I know some really fun people from there.PrepH4U said:My advice to you is don't cross frog marsh rd and ramble into those woods for your country feel. bhanks said:Honest answer to the quote above...for me, it's the desire to have a few (and just a few) neighbors around me in a private, wooded neighborhood. I think the folks who live in Porto Bello are hoping to be able to have the "out in the country" feeling. But, they want their neighbors to keep the general area looking nice and maintained (hence, having a home owner's association). There are not very many houses in the Porto Bello neighborhood, and each home has quite a bit of space (and trees) around it. So, in essence, the draw to a neighborhood like that is that I can live in a well-kept, small community and be only 10 minutes away from amenities.

Just wait until they put the stop light in for Porto Bello!Gunn317 said:I'm one of them....the nice ones that is. I know just about all my neighbors within a mile or so radius. It's because I'm one of them that I am so familiar with Porto Bello Estates. Drive by it everyday. It just flabbergasts me...now moreso because I can see the lights from the houses from Frogs Marsh Rd.
Ugghhh, that is ridiculous. Once you drive into the gates of Porto Bello, it looks just like any other subdivision (at least the nicer ones where they didn't bulldoze everything in sight). Once in there, the "out in the country" feel is gone. All those fields and woods you drove past are no more . Neighbors close by, dogs barking loudly, people running lawn equipment, kids playing and screaming...same as any subdivision. So I say, stay in the "planned development" areas of this county where WalMart is closer. Don't waste your gas getting out here for no more reason than to just waste gas.
I love Drayden because I don't live in a subdivision governed by Nazis and have only one neighbor that is barely in view of me. Surrounded by the peace and quiet with the distant sound of an occasional farm tractor. Not to mention a beautiful view of the St. Mary's.
Subdivisions like Porto Bello will ruin all of this one day. I hear someone's now trying to create a 100+ home subdivision in St. Inigoes!![]()
