Anyone missing a Great Dane?

Holy cow- how do you "lose" a Great Dane- that's like, oh I misplaced my HOUSE!!!

If you see him again you may want to check with the kennel that is on the left just before you get to Hollywood Shores, they might know him.

Mr. Great Dane and I met each other in the side yard a few minutes ago. He's a very nice fellow - very pleasant. He comes up to my NECK and I'm 5'7" tall.

He has no tags, and he has no evidence that he recently had any. The chain collar around his neck appears to be a modified choker (it won't choke anymore if pulled), but it is kinda tight around his neck.

Our Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix (Lenny is his name) is going to give himself or one of us a heart attack if Mr. Great Dane keeps coming by to visit.

So I broke down and called Animal Control. They said they'd have someone come out shortly.

Good tip! The old kennel there closed down, and now there's a new one that calls itself something like a pet resort or something, but I don't believe they're doing any business yet. Anyhow, I'm sure THEY would be driving around here looking for him if he'd gotten loose from there.

Animal Control Came and Went!

I don't know if they picked the big fella up or not - they never stopped by! I saw them drive past, and then saw them drive past about 15 minutes later in the opposite direction. :shrug:

Well if they got him, I'd guess they'll take him up to the Tri-County shelter in Mechanicsville.

I just talked to Animal Control again (by phone). They didn't see the dog, so either he's still roaming around or he was found/picked up/went home or something. I'll keep an eye out for him, but no doubt Lenny will see him first!

Well, our large friend hasn't returned and all the dogs in the neighborhood are quiet...I think I'll just drop it for now.
