Anyone try Three Brothers in PF yet?

Wow, I must have seen a hundred movies in that mall. You must have worked in the one with 6 theaters, right? I think the one with 8 came later than that. They used to have a Chesapeake Seafood across from the old theater and we'd stand in line to get in and it would wrap all the way around the corner. I don't know why we did cause it was crummy food. :barf: I guess it was because it was all you can eat. :lmao:

Yeah, it was way before they built the other 8. I go in the mall now and try to remember what it looked like back then. The mall ended right there at the theater. There were glass doors where the McDs and Petco is. All of that was added on later. It makes me sad that the place isn't safe anymore.

Where did you live in that area?

All over the place from '73 to '08. Went to UM and got into real estate later buying and fixing up houses and renting to students (mainly). Lived in 3 different houses in Berwyn Hts across from Beltway Plaza. Lived in College Park on campus and in a house, Riverdale (houses & apts), Bowie, Mitchellville, & Lanham. Not sure if I missed anything. Then moved into a foreclosure in Calvert Co, where I'm at now. I guess I'm a real tumbleweed! :lmao: Where'd you live?

Forgot to say something about the safety. You're so right, it's sad the place is no longer safe. I've had numerous break-ins at houses in the area. I also forgot to mention I lived behind Beltway Plaza at Springhill Lake (as well as behind PG Plaza - I just can't remember them all!). Drugs, gangs, shootings, etc. I'm so glad I'm down here now and don't think I'm going back.

I grew up in Berwyn Heights on Quebec Place. Lived there for 22 years until I went in the military. My parents still live there. Graduated from Parkdale in '80. I came back in '98, stationed at Andrews and lived in Greenbelt until '05. Now live in Calvert as well. Port Republic. Getting out of PG was a good move. I worry every day for my parents.

I know Quebec Pl. That's not a bad area. I always kind of liked Berwyn Hts. I lived on Berwyn Rd, Ruatan and Seminole St. Many a keg party at Ruatan after a Terp game (late 70's/early 80's). Hopefully your parents will be OK. Main thing is to not go out late at night and hang when all the crazies are out. That place has gotten so congested though, it's hard to get around in rush hour. Rt 4 is a breeze, like night and day. Oh well, here's to the good ol days. :buddies:

Parkdale was a good school back in the day. And I loved Greenbelt growing up. Used to ride my bike in and around Greenbelt, Greenbelt Park and Springhill Lake. I wouldn't step foot in Springhill Lake today. Very dangerous place.

Berwyn Heights is still relatively quiet. What last names of folks did you know from BH?

Have you seen this site: Parkdale High School Yearbooks

I grew up in just off Crescent Road in a free-standing home. Berwyn Heights? Tons of people...too many to list.

Nope, haven't seen that site, thanks!!

Ruatan was the street behind Quebec Place. If those parties were back in the late 70s early 80s I bet I know what house and you all kept us awake on many-a-night. :lmao: Can you tell me which house it was? Did you rent it out from the Hill's? I think they were still the owners. I had so many friends on Ruatan.

My folks have never had a problem; although my dad is in very poor health and my mom is now starting to decline; so I worry about them.

And I'll take Rt 4 over the beltway any day.

I just knew so many people on that town and may have them on my facebook. What a small world it is sometimes.

Howdy ol' neighbor. :howdy: If you were on Pontiac a lot I must have crossed paths with you a few times. That was a main thoroughfare thru there. Greenbelt too. I don't know how many times I walked around that lake and went thru the little town. I'm sure you tried 3 Bros. in Beltway Plaza, right?

I don't remember the Hills. We owned the house on Ruatan as an investment and I lived there with students for a number of years. We were raucous I admit and I apologize if we kept you up at night  but you know how it is when you're young. :yahoo: Sorry to hear your folks are in poor health. I would imagine that they don't want to move and hope they have some comfort there.

I don't know when the Hills actually sold the house. Are you able to tell me which house it was? Of course Ruatan goes about the length of the town so it didn't occur to me it could have been a few blocks from my house.

You're right about my folks in staying in their house. I think it's about the last real comfort they have left in their lives.

Thanks for the PM. I guess we weren't next door to each other but close enough to be called neighbors. :howdy:
