Well you can take the 8 year old or you can have the baby when she comes. :starcat:

I have a feeling that the blonde hair blue eyed one will be returned to me shortly and put up for re-adoption.

I'm just kidding people. I LOVE my kids.

Careful now, everyone on these forums that has a pet or pets considers them their children. I know I do.

:yeahthat:

Agree Bay_Kat, i know all 6 of ours are 3 dogs and 3 cats, they are all members of our family. Even though i was not reponsible for bringing them all in, ( wife, son, sister in law ) are the culprits. Once they are here they become members of our family and are here to stay.

We adopted a beagle/dachsund in February, and sadly, he has turned out to NOT be the dog for us.
He is much higher energy than we can handle; although some might consider him still a puppy (2 or 2 1/2 yrs.)
He's been neutered and he has a microchip and is up on all of his shots. I'd prefer to find a home for him instead of taking him to a shelter.

Anyone like beagles?

Libby, exactly what is this dog doing? We have a beagle that at 3 years settled down and is perfect. First 3 years was something else but we still enjoyed them. I would be interested but your dog would have to settle in with another beagle one year older, a kitten, and an older cat that just barely tolerates the others. If it's not biting or being destructive let me know. Our dog would love to have another one to play with.

He doesn't bite. Our problems are primarily that he chews up anything/everything on the floor, kid stuff. Books, toys, shoes, etc. I have a 6,4 and2 y/o, so it's hard to keep up with their stuff so it stays out of the dog's way.
Additionally, when we let him out into the fenced in backyard, if we leave him out for any length of time, he starts ripping at the stuff on the back porch. He's destroyed the cushions of our porch furniture, and then he moved on to the screens of the back porch. (he goes through the porch to get in and out of the back yard.)
He's not been destructive with furniture in the house.

And that's exactly what you should have put in your original post to warn people that he was destructive.

he sounds bored and has high energy. My future husband, Cesar Millan, would tell you that you need to exercise the dog more (several long walks a day). You have to become the pack leader and be assertive.

this is why there are so many unwanted animals in shelters. Irresponsible people don't do research..then bail when an animal is doing what animals do. To commit to a pet and the abandon it is pretty low. I hope someone can take the dog before it ends up euthanized, another victim of human whim.

Not uh! Really? He's so ummm...fruity.

I thought he was gay at first too. I don't want him cause I'm attracted to him, I want him because he amazes me with his ability to read dogs and change the way they behave. That and his money

Millan lives in Santa Clarita with his wife, Ilusion Wilson Millan, and their sons, Andre (b. 1995) and Calvin (b. 2001). Millan's son, Andre, has a dog named Apollo as featured on an episode of The Dog Whisperer.

Do you crate train? Have you taken him to a professional trainer to learn how to handle him? There are very good, easy techniques that help. I know, I have a beagle mix. Got him when he was 8 weeks old, I was single then and worked full time so he was not getting a lot of time or attention during the day. Big chewer and digger. Time and training made all of the difference! He will be 11 in February. :yahoo:

Why don't you take him?
