Wilewood apartments are nice and some very affordable. Try a classifieds search - you may be able to find something.

The Apartments of Wildewood ARE nice, but not for under 1000. Even for a single.. Abberly Crest is very nice, but again not for under 1000. You might be a big pressed to find something decent for under a grand unfortunately. Roomate an option?
I stayed a year in the Greens and they were okay but are going downhill. Spyglass is near gate 3 and theyre decent but boarder the 1000 range
St. Marys landing is not-so-hot. Also any apartment complexes in Leonardtown are to stay away from as well.
Best thing to do is go visit the places.. it's impossible to tell from their websites. They will only show the best pics and such online.

I am absoltely SHOCKED that some forumite hasn't offered you a room to rent in exchange for er... Services... 
Do you have acces to the base? If so drop in at the base housing office and pick up a list of current rental offerings. It's about 10 pages of rentals in the tri county area.

Hickory Hills is nice and safe...The rent after cable, telephone and internet and water is like....1,036 a month. You have to have that package added on. Then you have of course your electric and your gas. It's 2 stories, supposivily considered a townhome.
They also have efficiency's as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had looked into St. Marys Landing, they have a 2 bedroom/2 bath for 890 a month + utilities. Sounded good, but then I started to hear not so good things about the place.
I do work on base, and forgot all about the housing office. I will run over there at lunch.

The Greens......lived there, I hated it!
If you can, try to rent at Abberly Crest, they're brand new and are really nice.

Maybe I should think about moving my house? I get 1350.00 a month rent for it and it is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath in quite area of mechanicsville

There are always people missing....usually because they go for a swim.
I don't know about the Greens but I just helped someone move into AC and although they are new the place is a pit. LOOKS nice but when you start to look around, you'll see lots of stuff that needs fixing....
