Thanks for all the suggestions. I had looked into St. Marys Landing, they have a 2 bedroom/2 bath for 890 a month + utilities. Sounded good, but then I started to hear not so good things about the place.

I do work on base, and forgot all about the housing office. I will run over there at lunch.

I've lived there and over at Queen Annes. SML also has a lot of drugs running through it, at least it did when I lived there. Of course, that's a rampant problem down here anyway. Between The Park and L-town, you can throw a rock in any direction and hit three dealers and two liqour stores.

I liked QA better, though there's usually a bit of a waiting list. Also, one of the buildings got hit by lightning a few months ago and I'm not sure if it's been repaired yet, so it might complicate the matter with them.

how far South in St Mary's?? There are two small bungalows on St Jerome's Neck for rent, but I have no idea how much they want.

How far south is that. I am not too familiar that area. I work on base, but most things I do are a north of the base. (Gym, friends, shopping . . .)

St Jeromes is about 10 miles South of Gate 2 (maybe a little more).. A MUCH easier commute than coming from the North, you can be to work in about 15 minutes (through the gate and on the base).

Spyglass is nice

didn't someone get murdered at St. Mary's Landing this past year?
Spyglass......someone still missing?
The Greens......lived there, I hated it!

If you can, try to rent at Abberly Crest, they're brand new and are really nice.

It isn't fair to say that about Spyglass. The "someone missing" is the long-term maintenance guy. His missing status is domestic in nature and most likely related to his marriage. He didn't live at the complex.

That said, I lived in Spyglass when I first moved into the area and was very impressed. Although it was older, the complex is clean and safe. It also has a wonderful beach, which no other apartment complex here offers. There are also some decent walking trails next to the complex, but I was always disappointed with the lack of speed enforcement on the road leading into Spyglass. It's a 25 MPH zone and you'll find people doing 40-50 all day long...

Most people don't know that Spyglass is mixed income. You get 5% off your rent if you make under 60k. It's called the bond program. You have to ask, they don't offer up the details according to what I've been told.

Oh, and they allow pets too...

Thats not bad. I live in Town Creek now and it takes 15 -20 minutes to get to work. It would be nice not to have to deal with the traffic. I will give her a call. Thanks!!

Abbey Crest off Willows road. Within your price range and one of the newest apartment complexes built in Lexington Park. Close to the base and all shopping, somewhat secluded and in a fairly safe area with minimum traffic...

You could try Laurel Glen apartments behind KMart on 235 (they don't seem to advertise very much). Not 100% sure what the prices are currently but I think the 2bed 1bath is running about 950 per month (at least thats what I am paying). Pretty nice and relatively new. Haven't really noticed any shady characters around here.
