Appliance repair

Okay, pulling an old thread out of the cobwebs... We bought a new Frigidaire Gallery convection oven in February and on 4/18, I baked a cake, then cooked dinner. When we got up Thursday for work, Hubby asked me if I realized I left the oven on all night. Uh, no, I didn't!! Low and behold, it was hot. No idiot lights on to tell you the oven was on. So, we shut the breaker off and went to work.

Got home yesterday, flipped the breaker back on, set the clock on the stove, and went outside to do some watering. Came back and checked on in a hour or so later, still cool. Great!! It reset itself!!! Cooked dinner (using the oven) and waited a couple of hours for it to cool off, then went and checked. Yep, still hot! No indicator lights on to let me know the oven was on. And, I know I turned it off. Called today and was given Tracy's and Apple Appliance to call.

First, does anyone know what might be up with the oven? At first, I though I had accidentally hit the timer to stay on for an extended time, but I don't think that's it now. Second, what experience have you guys had with these two companies? They are the "official" repair companies in our area for Frigidaire. Thanks!!

Not exactly sure what you have with it but more than likely you have PWB that has gone bad, I don't believe you would have any relays or individual controllers that would cause your problem. Seems like it might have a sticking relay in the control board......call the manufacturer

Did, and they recommended the two companies I posted. I hate this because I love my stove!! Anyway, I'll give one of them a call (flip the old coin) and get them out so we don't have to wear the breaker out turning it on and off.

Seems as though there is a relay that is not releasing until you kill the power, should be simple enough and at least it is just a part and not an adjustment, when someone says "it just needed an adjustment" is when I worry; good luck

We just had our ice maker repaired by AA Dependable out of Waldorf. 301-884-5070. Very nice to work with and called 1/2 hour prior to arrival so I could leave work to meet him. I live in Mechanicsville so am probably in your area.

Make that two recommendations for AA Dependable.
I found they will give you an honest estimate (and opinion).
If they think you are better off replacing with a new appliance the technician will probably say so. - Based on the age and over condition of th eappliance.
