Why do Baltimore fans dispise Irsay: because of the Way that Irsay did it. Bailed out in the dead of the night and left us high and dry and stuck without a team for 12 years.


Art Modell didn't go the sneaky route with what he was doing, and he didn't "steal" any-damn-thing. Not only that, he left Cleveland with the name for the Browns and all the history that goes along with it.

And Cleveland has a Browns team which has been back in place for 5 years now. After having no team for a mere three years.



You and the entire whining city of Cleveland just need to get over it stop bellyaching already. The only people who bring up the Baltimore Colts any more are people who want to complain about the Browns/Ravens

Robert Irsay wanted a new stadium and Baltimore wasn't going to pay for it. He leaves, Baltimore is enraged.

Modell financially mismanages the Browns (a track record he continues in Baltimore despite the fact Md taxpayers build him a stadium) and wants the city to pay for his stadium. They won't, he leaves, Cleveland is irate. Sounds pretty familiar to me.

Lets not even get started on the embarassment of the Lewis'.

You don't think the city should fork out a little bit of dough being that it will be a major attraction. Let's not mention all the money it will generate for the city.

You will never EVER get a Maryland-resident Redskins fan who hates Baltimore to admit that. EVER.

Their team is the Redskins, yet their tax money his helping to flip the bill for their nemisis' stadium.



I would be more diplomatic about it, since I myself am also a Skins fan and often try to sympathize: but in this case I can only giggle and say "HA-HA! Tough beans losers!"

I didn't say that, only the situations are pretty similar.
If I remember correctly Jack Kent Cooke only asked that the taxpayer's pick up the cost of the supporting infrastructure around the stadium but he paid for the stadium himself. Somehow the Redskins are the most profitable franchise in the league. Good thing he wasn't like the Modell's and the Irsays.

Am I mistaken or did I read somewhere that Jack Kent Cooke stadium is turning over to the MLB?:confused:

Best of luck to the 'Skins. I'm glad to see Joe Gibbs is back and hope that he has some of the old football magic left in him. One warning for the average fair weather fan: Let him do his job a while before you all start piling on.

Remember that the first time Joe Gibbs was the coach, he lost the first 4-5 games, and that was when he had a lot more talent than he does now.

But he isnt a miracle worker. ravens have a legitamate shot at taking it all this year.

when the two play each other, it will be ugly. skins probably wont even score.

the ravens defense is BUILT to shut down an offense like gibbs runs.

Ravens on TV in St. Mary's

Looks like Metrocast cable carries WJZ-TV (Channel 13) so we can watch most of the Ravens games in St. Mary's, but they've unexplicably removed WJZ-DT so we can't watch any games in High Def. I can't understand that or why Metrocast won't carry WBFF (Baltimore Fox) so we can get the rest of the games. I've had intermittent success getting WBFF-TV and WBFF-DT over the air. Anybody else have any suggestions on getting Baltimore Fox?

By the way, I don't mind receiving 'Skins games.... I love to watch them lose!!!!
