Are the jellyfish in yet?

I have not heard of any. I thought peak jellyfish season was in July.

Jellyfish usually don't start showing up in annoying numbers this side of the Bay until July 4th or so.

The yellow jellyfish are in abundance in Long Island Sound. They get to be about 5" across, and are weeks earlier this year than normal. They sting, but aren't bad. The ones that really get you are the purple Lion's Mane jellys. Their sting can pack a wallop.
My favorite is the comb jelly, Ctenophores. When they are in, you take a row boat out at night and as you dip the oars and move forward, you leave a bio-luminescent trail behind you. Spectacular.

I was in the water Sat. evening and there were no J-fish. Still have about 3 more weeks before they show in numbers.
