Are they building something behind Brusters?

Well - are they? What’s going on there?
I've been meaning to ask. I thought I had heard a fast-food restaurant and some shops. I also wonder what and when something will go on the Pike property on 235 N/B side.

I don’t know where that is.

I’d still like to see SOMETHING happen with Hollywood’s “downtown” but my guess is, it’ll pretty much always be burnt out and abandoned buildings.

It's just past the Airport/Mervell Dean intersection.

The old brick building on MDRd next to Simmons Air is going to be a barbershop. That's just N of Clarke's Landing Rd on the right. It was some sort of church.

Today I saw they were definitely breaking ground on the REST of the property. Still no idea but I have a sour feeling it'll be something I won't be using.

Hey, they got Toots and the bar next door, plus the Elks or Moose, and Last Drop. Bars Bars Bars
Tractor Supply, a dollar store and Early Bird - what the hell more do you want?

Well I don’t drink, so most of that isn’t for me.
Based on their growing infestation, I have to believe the "dollar" stores are what the peoples of the county crave.
You ain't nobody unless you have a liqueor and a dollar store.👌

Dollar General is starting to close stores. Wouldn't it be a bitch for them to close all the stores they just built in St Mary's.

My town has 4,800 people with two locally owned grocery stores. The county allowed DG to build two stores here less than a mile apart. We also have a Family Dollar.
Our money used to stay here, not so much anymore.

Every small town out here has a DG. Like Van Buren, IN with 780 pop has a new DG. The town has lost 100 residents in the last 10 years. Its the home of Weaver Popcorn, the DG is across the street from Weaver catching everyone before and after work.

Makes sense. They're smaller than grocery stores, don't carry perishables like produce and meat (unless it's frozen or processed and refrigerated).
A staff of two or three can run it and from experience - they don't need the crushing volume of larger grocery stores to stay profitable.

I worked in a drugstore as a kid - and most of them aren't terribly different from a Walgreen's or CVS. They're perfectly suited to small towns. And I'm sure it's MUCH easier to build a few DGs than one grocery.

One town over in Elwood, IN that have a Dollar General Grocery and a regular store.

One of our DG has fresh salads, fruits along with refrigerated / frozen section.

The problem I have is the money doesn't stay local. And It just kills the local business that cant buy as cheap and the chains.
Dont kid yourself, they want locals out of business.

Pretty sure it is this-

When they say coffee shop, I assume a Dunkin. Not sure on Fast Food. Only one of those expanding down here seems to be the DQ Grill and Chills. Anything else is likely liquor/tobacco/nail stuff.

Thanks! But to be honest, that lot really doesn't look all that big to stuff all of that in.
AND adequate parking.

I don't know why someone doesn't rebuild over by where the Greenery was, or the furniture place.
That place is an eyesore.

The Greenery is a new pot facility.

I agree about the new development. It's going to be a clusterphuck.
