So if ... say... someone.... or a group of someones... were to go rearrange things in that aisle... who would have to put things back in order...?
That would depend. I could get a lowly cart boy or cashier gal to do it for me.

Go go gadget seniority!

Most of the boys that work there have your haircut. I noticed that last time I was there stalking you!

thanks for your suggestions. I like Shoppers for its Mexican food stuffs .. as soon as my husband's mother teaches me how to make homemade tamales, I'll definitely be utilizing that aisle a bit more. Specifically I'm looking for Thai basil. Plus, you can find the most interesting things at Oriental markets.

I've grown that in the past and love the flavor. It's easy to grow from seeds if you're interested in going that route. Some nurseries may still have plants available too. I know that Homestead Gardens nursery outside of Annapolis had plants when I was up there a month ago or so but I have no idea if they still have it. I want to say I've seen it packaged for sale around here at Giant too but I'm not really sure.

:yay: I just love browsing through them and seeing the different products.

Try the Sampaguita Asian Food Store at 351 Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. (Phone# 301-396-8441) I've never been there, but it's run by the wife of an acquaintence. She is Philippino but was also trying to branch out to carry other Asian or Oriental type foods.

I didn't hang with people like that in Japan.

duly noted. I'm more inclined to buy stuff I'm somewhat familiar with and kind of know what to do with rather than pick something up for giggles. I'm more of an adventurous sort when going out to eat rather than cooking in my own kitchen (unless I've already sampled it and want to try my hand at making it myself). :barf:

Whatever you do don't try Durian or Jackfruit, if you are not familar with them. http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~durian/ My wife's mother is from Thailand and they eat this stuff sometimes. Smells like a NYC dumpster on a hot summer day to me. :barf:

Don't think you'll have a problem finding "Thai Basil" at the Asian store in Great Mills.

After reading this thread, I'm making Larry take me out for Vietnamese tonight because I, unlike some, am a multi-cultural kind of gal.

You have to go in the kitchen and yell "HEY JUAN!" If anyone answers "SI?" you cannot cross "Vietnam" off your multicultural progress chart. :boo:
