I've been having almost daily issues with the old Metrocast equipment - but they've told me there's little likelihood of an upgrade until the pandemic is over.
Yeah well - they said the lobby is closed, so you can't talk to them in person - that they're not scheduling upgrades until a few months from now.
They wouldn't have to keep going back if they'd fix the problem the first time.He told me that many other techs in his department were leaving ABB for other companies because they are frustrated by having to go back to the same neighborhoods and houses over and over again.

Well, I use to be a genius.
How can these two be true at the same time? Seems if your modem is exceeding power requirements then the problem must be on your side.I'm getting tired of my ABB Internet being down more than up. As explained to me by multiple techs, my modem is exceeding its power ratings trying to push data packets up the cable to ABB and therefore continuously resetting. They have also ensured me the problem is not on my side of their equipment on the pole.
Is anybody with ABB service using an amplifier to boost their Internet signal?
Possibly their equipment up on the pole has been there since pre-Metrocast days? After my calls for service, a second groups of techs is scheduled to go up on the pole, make some adjustments, and we've got good Internet for a couple weeks. How can these two be true at the same time? Who knows with ABB. The modem is only two years old. The techs say it is the equipment on the pole causing the modem to go out of spec. I can monitor the dB level by accessing the html pages inside the modem. When everything is working fine, the level is within spec. But if your modem is out of specs (excessive power output) as they have claimed, wouldn't it be logical to get your modem back within specs first or are they just slinging crap to see if it sticks?
Okay, so they are saying that your modem exceeds specs when they are sending too much signal to your modem. In that case your modem isn't out of specs, they are.Who knows with ABB.
