100% Goapele Head!
I think my car came with those dealer guards. Or at least it seems part of the car. I know when it is raining a little i can still have my window cracked and not get wet but if it is heavier or windy not so much.

My only thing with cracking my windows is depending on where I am I don't want my car jimmied. Even though my alarm is on and the car shuts down if someone breaks in I still don't want a car thief tempted.

Tex, thanks for your consumer scoop, do you think they have improved it at all?

Eat More Beef, Less Chkn
Its made in China.... and still uses the same size solar plate. From the looks of the add, this version does not come with an optional cigarette plug cord.

I may pay $5 for the thing....shipping included ,,,,but nothing more.

I can understand a 13 year old with enthusiasm for a contest, coming up with something like this but the parents should have said......not with my dog. Maybe this was in northern Cadna.

Didn't a serial killer bury a little girl and had a muffin fan providing her air?

I guess the 13 year did did not have an original idea. He was cute though, even with the crying.

I saw a commercial for this thing last night. They showed 2 cars. One the temp. was 107, the other with the fan was 75.

If anyone is gulllible enough to believe this, they deserve to lose their money. A fan is not an air conditioner. It will only move air without lowering temperature. If the air temp. outside your car is 90 degrees, the minimum the inside can be is 90 degrees. With the glass and dark paint, I guarantee this thing cannot lower the temp. to 75. :duh:

In My Opinion
I think you would be better off spending the bucks for a remote starter and just letting the ac run for a few moments before jumping in.

Autocool - DON'T BE SUCKED IN!!!

DON'T BE FOOLED THAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH AN HONEST, ABOVE-BOARD COMPANY!! I ordered an Autocool for $14.99, plus $7.95 Shipping and Handling - total $22.94 - Right? WRONG! I ordered ONE Autocool on June 23. On June 27 they withdrew $60.73 out of my checking account!!! I called and was told I had ordered TWO, which I had not. I only have one car, I am 75 and on limited income and was doing good to order one! Not only did they have me down for 2, each coming with the FREE "cupholder caddy", they were charging me $7.95 S&H for EACH Auto Cool PLUS $7.95 S&H for each "FREE" cupholder caddy!! I was rather upset and wanted my money credited back to my account- IMMEDIATELY!. The only way they could do that was WHEN I MAILED BACK THE EXTRA ONE, AND AT THAT TIME THEY WOULD CREDIT MY ACCOUNT!! Not only did they withdraw $60.73 (which is actually not the correct total if you total everyting together) but now I had a MINUS $184 in Insufficient Charges! With the $60.73 they took out plus the NSF charges, that was $224 my account is now overdrawn. On July 1, my Social Security check was automatically deposited, all $534 of it, and now I did not have enough money to pay my bills. My only other income is babysitting! It is now July 16 and nothing has been solved. I did receive TWO separate packages (NOT FOUR as they had charged me for) yesterday July 15 - ordered on June 23 - from Auto Cool, not 4 separate packages, so how could they charge me $7.95 for each Autocool and $7.95 for each "free" cupholder caddy? The whole thing is a farce! My bank is reimbusing me tomorrow for the charges and then they will go after Autocool for their fraudulent behavior!! I am returning both packages tomorrow UNOPENED! What a crock! Don't be taken in - I was.

IMO it won't be worth the postage to send it back. It's worthless while the car is moving and it would take several of them to get a closed car down to outside temps while it is parked.
I am sure you are correct! Don't believe they will work when it's 115 degrees in Phoenix! Besides, they commited fraud - see my posted reply!!

Sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, it is quite common now to get scammed by these types of companies. I had a charge of $24.95 come out of my account one time, when it was one of those "down-to-the-wire" weeks. I figured, even though payday was a couple of days away, $20 in gas would do me just fine. Went to get the gas, card was declined. Called the bank, some roadside assistance company hit my account. So I got the number of the company from the bank and called it. The person on the other end was rude, kept telling me that I ordered this service, wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor, even after I tried to explain that I would have no such need for this service since roadside was covered by my Statefarm policy. Anyway, my bank credited the money to my account a few days after I disputed, but it was still a PITA and I still don't know to this day how that company was able to charge me.

Auto Cool

I just bought 2 Auto Cool units. Neither one made a bit of difference. When I went to retrieve my "full money back" guarantee, I was told I wouldn't be reimbursed for all the ridiculous processing fees they charged me or the price of shipping. I paid over $40 for just 2 of those dinky plastic things. They are a total SCAM!!!! I also will have to pay to ship the stupid things back if I want my money back. I have to trust that even though they're total liars that they'll refund my money after they receive the products.

In my opinion, if the product doesn't work, the stupid company should suck it up and pay the cost of processing fees and shipping. That should be their price to pay for a product that doesn't work. Once they get my products back, I wonder who they'll ship them to next? You know if they're unethical enough to lie to everyone, they're unethical enough to repack and send it off to the next unsuspecting customer.

I wish I would have done my research first. Today I've been on-line checking out all the sites who are bashing this product hoping to find someone who knows the right thing to say to get all their money back. Apparently a lot of news stations are testing the product to show on the nightly news, and they're all saying it's a dud. So don't waste your money!!!!

Go to BBB.org and make a complaint. I know that 9 times out of 10 they aren't able to resolve anything, but the complaint does become part of their record, so when future shoppers look at the BBB before purchasing, they will see that it is not a good company to deal with.

I feel sorry for these folks that got burned but whatever happened to common sense?? If the temp. outside is 90 degrees, how is a lil toy fan gonna cool the inside of a BLACK car to 75?? :eek:neborneveryminute:

:huggy: That happened to me last year when Dustin left an unopened can of coke hidden somewhere in my car and then went to San Diego. I came out to go to work one morning and had soda everywhere! :jameo: And that was only one can, so I can't imagine what a 12 pack would do. :lmao:
