In My Opinion
Now is the time to trim them.
by july the blooms for next year will be growing.

I have a double blooming azalea, blooms once in june, then again in september.
Not sure how to work with that one so its sorta getting pretty big.

I got 3 triple blooms last year from Ches Bounty; spring, summer, and fall, so that is a good question of when to trim a multiple bloomer. I will look that up. Two of them are struggling, and one is completely full of blooms right now. I do know it is good to feed them. I used the liquid Miracle Grow.

I purchased the Encore azaleas. Here are the tips and the website.

I planted some small azaleas last year and no bloom this year, anyone know how long before the bushes start to bloom?

I'm sick of my azaleas blooming. They have been blooming pretty much since November. They just won't stop, and I can't fertilize them for next year until they do. Florida sucks for flowers, right?

It is a good time to trim and prune, though.

Can I prune them back pretty severely? Mine haven't been trimmed in about 9 years. I want blooms next year. Is it time to feed them?
