I like Glammy. I always liked the French version of grandmother "Memere" or the Russian version "Baboushka". Whatever Malice is called by her grandson, I'm sure it will be perfect.

I suspect he will be the one who ultimately decides what he will call me.

She didn't want to be called Grandma or Granny and her name is Cheryl, so it was just modified a bit from my Aunt's suggestion. I still call my Grandmother GrandBirgit.

If we shorten my name, we still come up with granne :ohwell:

Congratulations!

My Mom goes by the name of "Sommy".

My daughter had a t-shirt when she was about 18 months old which had printed on the front, "Somebody in Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Loves Me".

My Mom kept repeating it to her.

My daughter condensed what my Mom said to her and my Mom became "Sommy".

My Grandmother went by "Gammie". I didn't name her but that's what she wanted to be called.

I was just reminded:

My grandmother, we've always called her Grannie or Gran. When my son was born, there was a discussion on what she should be called by him since my mother decided SHE wanted to usurp the name Grannie for herself (which is typical of her).

Gran decided that she wanted to be Grannie Great, then, which became Grannie Grapes once Doug started talking. So Grannie Grapes is what he and my daughter always called her.
