Don't forget to check the whole name and initials for pitfalls. For instance, if your last name was Cheese, you certainly wouldn't name him Whocutta.

Only because they will be very unique because none of these names will be chosen for many years to come

Richard is not new or unique, however, no one uses the nick name Dick anymore. I think it could be a bold move......

I'm not sure if you are looking for more traditional names or what, but if you don't want your kid picked on cuz of their name then...

1. Stay away from names that rhyme with your last name.
2. Don't pick a name very similar to your last name. Knew a guy named William Williams. And he insisted on being called William not Bill.
3. Stay away from strange, weird, overly unique names (Celebrities seem to always want to name their kids like this)
4. Don't pick a first name that makes a word when combined with the last name. (example: Actor Rob Morrow named his kid Tu = Tu Morrow, really? WTF was he smokin?)
5. Think about possible nicknames. If you name your son Richard, he might get called Dick. (could be for good or bad reasons )
6. You may or may not want to be careful about unique spellings of common names. I've seen Carrie, Cari, Keri, Kari, Kerrie, Cary, Kerry, Kery all pronounced the same way even thought I didn't think they would be.
7. Watch out for non-gender specific names (remember Pat from the SNL skit - is it a he or a she?) :killingme
