Baby Pool at Cove Point is NOT daycare

I hate to say it, but it seems as though parents who use daycare pay attention less - is it because they are used to someone else caring for their kids? ( I am not critisizing - just wondering).

I am just curious....how can you tell which parents use daycare vs. the parents that don't? My kids certainly don't walk around with a sign on that says "I go to daycare".

It did strike a nerve but I really didn't mean for it to come accross like that. I am just curious as to how to tell the difference when out in public between the kids that are in daycare. I can't tell when I am in stores, pools, pediatricians, whatever which kids are in daycare and which aren't (unless I know the family). I am just curious if it is just that obvious that I work outside the home?

I was just surprised that more people didn't reply to that comment.

If I bring my kids to your pool, will you watch them for a few? I have a few errands to run, lol. J/K.

I love that pool, but have also seen what you are talking about. ESPECIALLY that darn crab! that is gonna get someone hurt one day. Kids love it but its in a very akward spot.
As far as parents getting a break, its everywhere. I was at MIR on Thursday at the playground, I was ONE of THREE parents watching approx. 20 children! I was also ASSULTED when I asked one of the children to stop throwing a football at my child (Mother that was not there watching HER children)...they want a break but GOD FORBID if you say anything to sweetie pie while you are involuntarily (sp?) watching these little ones..
So, it happens everywhere. You just need to be the parent who does watch your child, because unfortunatly these children who are UNATTENDED grow up to become adults...You know what type of adults they become..... JMO

Last week I took my kids to the Cove Point Pool. specifically the babypool area. My daughter was playing with a little boy, who was 3. An hour later I'm looking around and wondering who his mother is...afterall my daughter really enjoyed playing with this little boy. 1.5 hours later his Mom came out of the big pools sopping wet, scooped him up out of the pool like a rag doll, threw him a towel and they left. Call me judgemental but in my opinion - that is a bad mother. Who the heck leaves a 3 year old in the baby pool alone, unattended?!?! Last I knew kids had to be 15 to be unattended anywhere in that pool complex.

If you dont like it dont go. Worry about your child if someone elses drowns because the parent is not there its on them not you.

:pete: Most GOOD Mothers are not ABLE to walk by a kid that is in danger with out stopping........Their own child or someone else's.
