Back PAIN

I guess I pulled some muscle/s yet again in my lower back. Playing with my son and picking him up and spinning/playing etc. Friday a.m. woke up and can barely walk upright and it SUCKS. I know it feels better once I get up and walk around and get muscles moving, but DAMN it hurts so bad to just start moving. Stuck in bed now :bawl: No it's not the first time this has happened, the last time I went to the doctor who just said bed rest... ummm... 2 year old son doesn't agree

You have my empathy. My L5S likes to slip out of place and renders me immobile. Tiger Balm, Hot bath, massage, and gentle stretching is the best you can do.

My husband has offered a back rub, I've warned him if he touches me, I "know" people...LOL. But thank you though:buddies: He is taking my munchkin outside to learn about yardwork :yahoo:

When I've had lower back issues like that, I've found that laying down and pulling my knees to my chest and holding helps relax the muscles

Don't forget the Motrin (Ibuprophen) if you aren't allergic, or have Asthma. It helps reduce the inflamation. Make sure you have something on your stomach before taking it. I hope you feel better soon. What a good Daddy to help with the little one.

No work today, have spent all day in bed. The WORST pain is driving the car and getting in and out of the car. I'm hoping it's better by tomorrow as I MUST get back to work. I thought the back pain was THE worst, then I realized, it's even worse aggravated by my cough from all these damned allergies...KILL ME NOW

This works for me. Add a body pillow to press against your knees and chest.

I don't like to take any meds, but ibuprofen does work. I was taking two and somebody said to take four. I did. Best sleep I've had in weeks.

I feel your pain. Two weeks ago I got ambitious and started spring cleaning like a mad woman! Woke up Monday in agony. Tried to tough it out and finally went to the Dr. on Wednesday, slipped disc and he prescribed Motrin. It still hurts, but, its worse when I sit or drive. I've had a spinal fusion two years ago and this hurts worse than that did.

How are you doing today KD?

I hate to be such a complainer, it sucks. I am lucky enough not to be chained to a desk and I have been trying to keep the muscles loose and one of those ice-hot patches on it. The coughing just makes it hard. I literally stop in he hallway and brace myself when I gotta cough. Oh and on a really stupid sidebar, I have zero flat dress shoes. I'm a frickin IDIOT! But, I will make it and work on building stronger back muscles! thanks

I bought a TENS/EMS machine because I wanted to workout without moving. Come to find out, it works for stuff like this too. You may want to check one out.

Okay. I'm on google. What's the cliffs notes version of these things?

It stimulates muscles by putting a low voltage charge through them. The EMS is for the exercise side. Electrical Muscle Stimulation, I think. TENS is Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and that's the one that helps with pain management as well as strengthening the surrounding muscles for injury recovery and physical therapy.

Umm...yeah...that to, but that's for the kinky folks. I'm pretty sure some insurance companies help with the cost of the thing, but I bought mine out of pocket for like $100. It's helped rehab my shoulder. :yay:
