Bad accident on Great Mills Rd ..

I am in a fairly safe neighborhood, but my kids are NOT allowed out that door once it gets dark. This area has gone to Hell in a hand basket in the past few years. I wish I could move...

:frown:

I hope your little brother makes a full and speedy recovery Maxima! :huggy:

Know the feeling. Gophette and I lived in Spring Valley for 25 years and very were glad to move away. When we moved there in 1972 it was a nice little neighborhood. The govt. subsidy townhouses behind the Tackle Box, the apartments at the end of Spring Valley Dr., and several of the houses financed as Section 8 housing gradually changed that over the years.

Hope all turns out well in this incident.

I really wish that they didn't put accident pics up. It is so not needed. :ohwell:

I think they are needed! Hopefully it will remind someone to slow down, take it easy, don't drink & drive, etc. Life is precious and sometimes we need a kick in the butt to remind ourselves just how precious it is.

:yeahthat: As long as they aren't showing something gory. There's a fine line between education and sensationalism, but just showing pictures of vehicles is absolutely appropriate.

I agree. As unfortunate as it is. Even the wrecks they put up in front of the base gates once in a while showing Drunk Driving wreckage makes one think about things.

I was not able to focus on this as I was on my way into work.

My understanding was the accident took place at the intersection of Yorktown an Keirsage Pl.(spelling?) I think they had 1 vehicle with unknown number of occupants flipped over on it's roof.

I know they Helicoptered him/her out but I am unsure if any others were involved and I don't know the medical condition of the person.

I did catch on the Police side that a large crowd had gathered around the Helo as they were prepping the patient and additional police were called there to get control of the crowd. They flew him out of Nicolette Park and I think I heard that they took him/her to PG Shock Trauma.

The accident on Yorktown was a different accident than the one with the kids. Everyone in the first accident (with the children) appeared to be ok, but was transported for precautionary reasons. The second accident, with the overturned car, was a single patient who was flown out.

I didn't know about 2 accidents. I only posted the info I was told by the BigLots workers. I wasn't sure.

If it will make someone stop and think and possibly not drive like an idiot then, yes, they are needed. Remember drivers ed?

No. They are not needed. What about the families? Do they need to see these pics? 2 weeks ago I logged on in hopes of hearing about my aunt's accident. I was directed to the link to the story. I was not expecting the pics that were posted. Not only were there 20 pics of her wrecked vehicle but there was one of her limp leg hanging out of the brush where she landed. Totally not needed.

Do you really think that those pics are going to make idiots drive safer?
