My gal Lily just recently started taking thyroid medication for hypothyroidism.

So far, we've found that she's hidden a pill under her bed (that was embedded in cheese) and also stuffed in the corner on the stair. One morning I gave it to her and made sure she swallowed and turned around to walk away - and QUICKLY turned back around on her to witness her :patooey: it out on her own mane of fur!!! :faint:

This morning I gave her her pill, watched her swallow and even had her tongue hanging out as we prepared to go outside at a door more than 25' away.

What do I find when we come back in? :ohwell: Her pill, whole. But wet enough that it crumbles and I cannot give it to her.

My dog cheeks her pills!! She's like an old man who doesn't want to take his meds! :jameo:

If they made dog medicine that tasted like cat poop, dogs would scarf it down no problem.

I stick my fingers so far down her throat, it's plain silly! :lmao:

:killingme With Emma that would work, she'd take Lily's pills for her! :jameo: But Lily is an anti-poop kind of dog.

Can you grind them up and mix into some kind of soft food?

Is it a stinky pill? Or "doggie" flavored? I have learned with T if I want him to actually swallow any pills, I can't "hide" it in something else. However, if I act like it's treat time and make him do a trick and then toss him his pill, it's gone - swallowed whole with no problems.

It's just a little pill and she's being willful. The whole soft food twice a day is just a messy situation. I was using peanut butter for a while, until she started catching on that there was something in it.

Just a funny ha ha to share.

I have hunterjjd come over and act like he's coring a cow and just insert them from the back.

:lmao:

I honestly actually thought of you guys yesterday at the park. The dog park that is. There were these two American Bulldogs (I think), tall, big, big heads, huge balls, taking dumps everywhere.

There was a Rotti female, spayed recently, but too slow/complacent to defend herself, so the male balled dogs kept humping her and humping her and humping her. No matter how much we tried to get rid of them, it kept occurring. The owners, acting as bystanders, said barely a word.

My girls gave them a firm "no" in dog speak and would've gone "Cujo" on their asses.

And to make matters worse, another littler dog, balled as well, came along and started joining in the show. He was extremely relentless. Especially for a tagalong, but he had smelled the scent of his predecessors. Who like to mark everything they can. And it's all fun and games, right?

I can't quite put my finger on the why, all I know is that you crossed my mind at the very same time all of this was taking place. Hmmm.

Dang, I misread the Dog Park as Dog Pound. :ohwell:
