I don't really like to bake cookies and stuff like that, but I love to cook, especially Italian food! I made Rigatoni Con Ricotta the other night and it was delicious!!

I don't like shopping, I do most of it online. I just can't handle all the inconsiderate people!!

I was talking about the fact the wife goes in for what she wants.. Then sees all of these other things along the way.. Then she gets what she wanted, and realizes one of the 50 pairs of shoes she has won't go well with it, so off to buy shoes.. Then we pass by other accesories.. Then somehow she think we need to go to victoria's secret to complete the outfit.. Just once, I would like for her to go in the mall with one thing in mind and just get that and be done..

The good thing is, while i'm following her all over the mall, I get to look around I stuff I want to get

I hate to shop but I love to cook so, SmallTown, you're a man after my own heart. I'd do more at the holidays but nobody in my house eats junk food except my husband (who doesn't need it Sorry, honeybear!).

Here's my recipe for homemade Cherry Mash, which was my favorite candy when I was a kid. Don't know if ya'll had Cherry Mash on the east coast but if you're from the mid-west, you know what I'm talking about:

1 Stick butter or margerine
2 C. sugar
2/3 C. evaporated milk
12 large marshmallows
1 jar finely chopped marascino cherries
pinch of salt
6 oz. pkg. cherry chips or cherry bark
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 C. finely chopped peanuts
3/4 C. creamy peanut butter

Put the butter, sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallows, cherries and salt in saucepan over a low heat and cook about 5 minutes until it starts to thicken. Remove it from the heat and stir in the cherry chips and vanilla, cooking until the chips are melted and everything's all blended. Dump this mess into a buttered 13 x 9 pan and chill until firm. Melt the chocolate chips, then add the chopped peanuts and peanut butter, mixing well. Spread this goop over the top of the first layer. Chill until firm.

Make sure you cut this into TINY pieces because it's so rich and sweet someone could die if they eat too much of it.

Cherry Suprises

1 package Duncan Hines Golden Sugar Cookie Mix

36-40 Candied Cherries
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon Crisco Shortening

Preheat Oven to 375 Grease Baking Sheets
Prepare Cookie Mix following package directions for original recipe. Shape thin layer of dough around each candied cherry.

Bake at 375 for 8 minutes or until set but not browned.

Cool

Melt Chocolate chips over low heat and drizzel over cookies.

If you've never drizzeled before, pour the melted chocolate into a freezer bag and poke a tiny needle size hole at thetip and squeeze.

Finally I'm gonna see smalltown!

1 SPICE or GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE MIX
1 WHITE CAKE MIX
1 pkg WHITE SANDWICH COOKIES
1 large pkg VANILLA INSTANT PUDDING MIX
GREEN FOOD COLORING
12 small TOOTSIE ROLLS
1 new KITTY LITTER BOX
1 new KITTY LITTER BOX LINER
1 new POOPER SCOOPER

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. [*** see below]

To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and "feel" it, you don't want it soggy, just moist; gently combine.

Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.

Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture.

Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time, in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs.

Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around.

Serve with a new pooper scooper.

Last but not least, serve with a fresh, warm Dicken's Cider.

I love to bake, but hate to cook. I love to make cookies for the holidays for parties and have already made about 12 different types. One great place for cookies recipes is cookierecipe.com.

My favorite cookies, and easy to make too, are Scandinavian Almond Bars (recipe is also at cookierecipe.com):

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons milk

1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and almond extract; mix until fluffy. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.

Divide dough into 4 pieces, and roll each one into a log about 12 inches long. Place 2 logs per cookie sheet 4 to 5 inches apart. Flatten each roll by hand until it is about 3 inches wide. Brush flattened roll with milk and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

Bake in preheated oven 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. While the cookies are still warm, cut them crosswise at a diagonal, into slices about 1 inch wide. When cool, drizzle with almond icing.

Almond icing: In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cookies.

Line new, clean kitty litter box.
Accent on the "new". :roflmao:

You should be able to find cherry chips alongside the chocolate chips at the grocery store. If not, just use cherry bark - same stuff.
