9/11 - Never Forget!
...Wednesday morning, the city's spending board is set to vote on a five-year contract with the Baltimore Racing Development Corp. that would pledge nearly $8 million in state and federal funds to prepare 2.4 miles of road for the race.
Why is the "Baltimore Racing Development Corp." pledging STATE and FEDERAL funds to turn downtown Baltimore into a race track? Why are the all taxpayers in Maryland and all other states having to pay for an event that will benefit Baltimore? I can understand that the "local business organizations" would benefit and therefore support the racing event but how will be people in Montana benefit from a race in Baltimore?
If the local businesses and taxpayers want to fund this event, well and good. That's their perogitive, but why should the rest of us have to pay?

Because part of the road course will be on federal highway? Just a guess...

Why should Baltimore have to shoulder the costs of this race by itself? The least that the rest of MD should do is give up more of their limited roads budget so that Baltimore can repave perfectly good roads. I mean really, you cannot expect Baltimore to pay it's own way. That is just not acceptable.

Nice, I like IndyCar racing. Nascar doesn't do anything for me. Better buy me a place in the City on the race route.

Should be plenty of forclosures available cheap.

Yep. But less of them than I thought there would be. Even funnier is in the same block I found a couple with 200K - $5mill price range. lol what a price difference.
