Any banjo players in Charles/St. Marys county? I have taught myself to play a little but would like to get with someone who is experienced or who gives lessons to help me advance my somewhat lacking skills.

You should go to Lil Margarets bluegrass festival. index
You will meet all of the banjo players in the area and be able to participate in open jams near the campers. Buy the 3 day pass so you can stay after hours when the best open jamming takes place. I also recommend the Murphy Henry DVD's. I spent two weeks with her first DVD and was able to play 4 songs. I quit after that because I still have all of my teeth and didn't fit the part.

Been practicing the Banjo for a while but since I moved here 7 years ago I have not found a good slow jam to attend. So I just tinker....

Koolstuff,
Where is the store in Hughesville?
Black-Francis,
Was there a link to your post? I don't see one.

I would pay just about anything to learn to play Foggy Mountain Breakdown...

Thanks for the info...

Seriously, Check out the Murphy Henry DVD's. For the price of a couple DVD's and a few weeks time, you will be playing it no problem.

Should be Huntin
A bunch of people would play at the farmer's market in the old Bluegrass shop on Saturday Mornings. I think years back they would meet up Wednesday or Thursday nights to.

Check out Turtlehillbanjo.com or something like that, not sure if the guy is in business still or not. When I was big into it I wanted to see what he had for sale but never could get an appointment.
