Bank of America

I was with BOA and hated it. They offered free checking w/ direct deposit but then cancelled it a few years later. They setup my direct deposit incorrectly and it wasn't until 6 months later that I found out. What a mess!!!!

I have been with State Employees Credit Union for over 10 years now and they are great. Only wish they have more ATMs down here. Don't know why they put on in Callaway instead of Leonardtown.

I get free checking plus interest (for what it's worth) plus free checks 2x a year. I do online banking and can use online bill payif I want.

WOW what a amixed bag!

Glad my life doesn't depend on this. Am looking for a bank myself. Have had direct deposit to a bank in KY since I was stationed there in the EARLY 80's. Looks like I am going to be here permanently and need a new bank. Opened an account at St Mary's Bank. but their fees are atrocious and NO perks, not even a toaster!! Would think a national bank would be the way to go..

Well up til now I would have recommed Cedar Point but as you can see I am shopping. Try looking into Crestar as well. They offer free checking with direct deposit. I wanted BOA b/c they are everywhere.

I love BOA! I'm not sure of the exact name of our account type but we get free checks/free online banking etc.

And if you do any traveling, its great since they are all over the country (13,000 ATMs and 4,500 Bank of America branches nationwide) - for easy access for cash withdrawls etc.

And....if that is not enough....if you go thru the drivethru at the Lusby branch with your dog, your dog gets a free biscuit.

When I lived down there I was at the Credit Union. I liked 'em just fine. Prior to that I was at First National St. Mary's and they were okay - but like Pete said, why pay a bank to hold your money?
