Super Bowl omen? Could be a bad week for horses.........

That was funny...

I was sad to hear that he was put down. I understand what you all think that the owners made him fight for too long...but in an article I read the owners stated that as long as he wanted to fight to stay alive and seemed upbeat they couldn't put him down. As an owner of plenty of dogs, cats, and horses...I have seen many an animal put down. But the few that remain etched in my mind forever are the two dogs we put down before they were ready to go. Those dogs fought the "peaceful" process and it was awful...I thought that it was best at the time and that I was doing the right thing, but it was a hard lesson to know when that right time is. I think that they listened to the horse and as my vet would say, they knew the time that he was ready to go and let him go when he was ready to give up the fight. JMHO

Well, kinda. Lots of horses are artificially inseminated, but with thoroughbreds, it has to be live-cover....I guess there are too many risks with AI...it's easy to accidently get the wrong straw of semen.
