Mine hardly ever barks unless the lab gets her going. I find Min Pin, Chua's, and small terriers seem to bark, but not Shih Tzus, at least the last 3 I have owned have not been little ankle yappers.

My catahoula has the loudest, most booming bark I've ever heard.Right now he's looking out the window, barking at the boxers next door, who he can't even see.
Had a female catahoula/Australian shep. Best dog I ever had. Her bark was almost non-existent.My daycare's mini-schauzer anounces my arrival to the entire neighborhood.

My Shih Tzus rarely bark :shrug: Whine, yes, bark no.
On that note: Any dog that just continues to bark for extended periods of time tends to get on my last nerve! Hounds tend to get to me the quickest with the bark, howl, bark, bark, bark, howl..........

its always 3 barks with a pause and then two he will bark at anything, sometimes I swear he will bark at the leaves falling. and he is so loud, but I love him to death, he is a block head hard head of a dog, but nonetheless he is mine and I love him.

My Min Pin never barks. If she does, you can bet there is a good reason!
That's why I want one! My wife's friend in college used to carry one in her bag, it was so cute. Never made a sound. Also less hair to shed.

Which breed of dog would you say has the tendency to be the most obnoxious barker?
Our old neighbor had two pekinese dogs (I think that is how you spell it). I LOVE animals, but I had dreams of shutting these things up. They were obnoxious.
