Bathroom steam cleaning machines?

Have you used a steam cleaning machine on your bathroom tiles?
What brand is good?
Is it really worth it or are there easier methods to clean tile & grout that don't involve scraping?
I re-caulked my upstairs bathtub this week and I scraped a bit of soap scum and other residue off the white tiles with a putty knife and they came out much cleaner than they ever did with Tilex so I thought that a steam machine would be just what I need for it.
I found a few online but I'm not sure how good they are.
Thanks again FYI folks!

I bought one of the "as seen on TV" handheld steam cleaners several years ago for a gift to a relative. I figured it would be nice to clean their grill with. We hooked it up and hit the grill with it. Nothing. No results at all. Tried it on a car rim with brake dust. No results. Tried it on the bathroom shower wall soap scum. Didn't even phase it. Put that chit back in the box and took it back.

Have you tried it on hard wood floors? If so...how well did it work? "The proof is in the pad"?

You do not want to use steam on a hardwood floor. If it's laminate, it should clean up with a damp mop. If it's real hardwood, you will eventually penetrate the wood and raise the wood fibers. If you try it, I hope you have numerous coats of shellac on it.

I haven't tried it on my wood floors yet. It does say that it is safe for wood floors. I have used it on my tile and laminate. My friend uses hers on her carpet.

My bathroom floor laminate has those little divots in it and they are impossible to keep clean unless I get on my hands and knees with a brush and scrub. You think that will get those clean? How much does it cost?

Yes it will! I've had my Shark Floor Steamer for over a year and LOVE IT!

I got the Shark hand-held steamer for Christmas this year. I haven't had much time to fool with it yet, but the one time I did pull it out and use it I found it worked on the things I did.

Handy dandy hint should you have one... I used it to clear the nozzles on all of my hair product cans and it worked freakin' awesome! A few shots of steam cleared all the caked on product that was clogging the spray holes. Normally I end up throwing cans away when I can no longer get them to spray, but all of them work like new now!

I got it on sale for $75... Took me awhile to spend that much money on a mop but it was well worth it!.

I have the hand held one son't think its a shark its yellow. Great for the bathroom

The Works is the best stuff that I have found to clean the bath with spray it on let it sit for a few and in most cases rinse it off may take a second time with a little srubbing but by far the best that I have found.

I ordered that blue Shark handheld one off TV probably a good 4 years ago. Its way in the back of cabinet....I keep forgetting its there. I need to pull it out!

I think I may be making a trip to the store this weekend for that mop....whatever makes things easier, i'm all for it.

Keep in mind it's not any "easier" ... mopping is mopping... and the pumping action makes the steam so you have to do small strokes. The key to the floor steamer is it DOES get up caked on grime and chemicals left behind by other attempts at cleaning. If you want to really put it to the test, I suggest you clean your floor the way you normally do. Once you are convinced your floor is clean, use the new steamer and just wait until you see the stuff it picks up!

It did take me several times of going over my floor to get up all the old chemicals. So give it a chance. At first I was disappointed because it looked all smeared. But I went over it a few times and was like WOW. And it feels so clean.

Yep! I read the reviews and everybody that reviewed the hand held one hates it. Thanks.

I don't want to use the mop because I need to use it on the walls and the toilet but I heard that it is good for floors. Thanks.
