Anyone have experience refinishing a bathtub??? I know it's a lot cheaper than a new one but wonder how hard it is.

Vinegar. Or Ace has a bunch of "goo gone" and "oops" products that made my bathtub/shower enclosure look nearly new.

Porcelain or fiberglass/acrylic? Does it need refinishing because of stains or is it cracked or chipped? A good boat hull repair guy can fix up a glass tub even with big damage. Places like Bathfitters cost a small fortune. It would be cheaper to find a DoWhat and put in a new tub from Lowes or Home Depot.
